" Nikolai will take six months off boxing to recover from a bone problem which could threaten his career" said his doctor Walter Wagner yesterday.
The 37-year-old Saulerland-promoted fighter lost his title to Britain's David Haye last November and hasn't fought since.
"He can't train for half a year, Nikolai's joints and bones are already damaged. We will see in 2011, his health is what counts," said the doctor, possibly unsure whether he will recover enough to resume his career.

Valuev would be far too expesnsive for a Chisora, if he weren't injured. Fights against Audley/fury/Sprott/Skelton are far more realistic.

This just sounds like a ploy to me. Call out a guy that won't be ready any time soon. And he brings down Haye a notch at the same time by insinuating that Chisora could beat Valuev.
Win-win without throwing a punch

Why must a tough fight have a belt on the line?

I agree, it doesn't. Titles are losing their currency now. As soon as a boxer is a name, its all about who they fight not what bullsh1t title is on the line.
EDIT:- Chisora is going nowhere
