Hatton apologising on morning television.

As a hatton fan i felt disgusted he's putting blame on his supportive parent's :!:

not only does hatton not exept defeat but blame also.

When ricky became a promoter he said he'd give fighter's the care he never had & then i read a jane couch interview talking on how's she's being hired by hatton to help organise & pay fighter's & she said regardless of tv they will be getting the same i gave them, for show's she hosted & was lucky to break even. :shame: plus he threw that young middle in the deep end.

i think hatton does himself no favour's to himself. id of liked him to just hold his hand's up & take it on his own head :!:

now people will think his ex- missus is a cow or he dont pay good maintenance possibly, it's all open to question now as he made it public. also he never once apologised or mentioned his fiancee :shame:

i personally get the impression ricky is tight round a pound note.he's got 50 million & sell's a house to his only brother :shame:

Seen it on the local North West news just then. Shocked hes laying it at his parents feet like but people dont know the ins and outs of whats happened.

Its basically a private matter being played out in public and I think Hatton can take some of the blame for that like. Did we really need to know his 'private' thoughts on his parents?

Sad seeing him talking about them in that way today. Certain things should be kept in house.

i dont care if he like's a beer the occasional toot & maybe visit's the odd porn site.

his image has been dirtied & it was only a matter of time if truth be told.

but how he can blame his parent's for not supporting him as a 31 yr old man is a joke.

regardless, he has responsibility for his fighters. for him to be snorting coke with a boxer is foolish. what kind of message does that send? anyone think hot prospects will be queueing up to get signed by hatton?

I always found this a bit odd too. I'd certainly look after my brother if I was in a position to do so.

Reminds me of Ali putting his brother on the payroll on $50k a year for drivin an jivin.

I've not watched this link but it's the one my mate sent me asking if I'd seen it, so I hope this is the right one.

disagree. Matthew hatton won't be hungry very long if he goes round getting houses given to him :shame: The odd dinner and maybe a watch or shirt at birthdays and Christmas is enough.
After he's done fighting, then Ricky could look at looking after him. Who'd want to own a house they hadn't paid for anyway??

because he has a brand, clothing, promotions,dinner night's,t.v appearances & sponsorship's & advert's etc.

he's biggest mistake was celebrating his career while he was in it.

i really get the impression hatton is greedy & tight & i hate them trait's, hope im dead wrong.

Hatton still in denial - says it all really.

Its going to be a very long road to recovery.

Agree 100% - until he has self awareness of what his issues are, then he'll never be clear as to what is wrong and needs fixing.

As others have said, right now it's just pure PR - and bad PR cos his PR peeps are treating the masses (fans) like mugs.

Has he really got drug problem? He been drinking heavily his whole career so he might have an alcohol problem! Should he keep his promotors licence?

Its very sad - very sad indeed - got to say I am surprised because I honestly thought there were 2 people Hatton definitely wouldnt blame and thats his mum and dad.

With regards the drugs issue - got no sympathy whatsoever - plenty of boxers miss the life plenty of boxers dont turn to drugs.

The more this PR b*llocks goes on the more nauseating it becomes and the more unforgiving I am becoming - Hatton should forget the media and get his help in private and leave his life there - PRIVATE.

Drugs problem - read some peoples opinions concerning Hatton and his denial about drugs - the first thing you do is go into denial.

With regards to the question concerning Hatton's Promoters Licence - now that is difficult!!

There are so many people involved in his promotional company - Staff and boxers - its not easy to simply say take his licence away there are those others to think about.

he doesnt have a choice does he.

he's taken thing's for granted plain & simple.

the only thing that kept hatton off this lifestyle, was preparing for world title fight's were he'd call himself a monk. & with no fight there's no training no diet, no limit's.
remember frank & mcguigan stressing to him about his jollying up inbetween fight's & pre fight fry up's & post fight dieting & his attitude was well ive come this far, if it aint broke attitude.
the lad's strong headed & stubborn & cant be helped only he can sort himself out & i get the impression he thinks its normal.

Depends if it recreational or he does it all the time.

I dont give a toss whether its recreational or not - still wrong in my view.

But I will humour you for now - surely for Hatton to enjoy the drug for recreational use he would have to have the mental strength to keep his life in control and realise when things were getting out of hand - it seems Hatton is still in denial now - he says the drink was a problem but not the drugs - how does he know the drugs werent a problem when he was p*ssed a lot of the time???

Agreed, the over-riding thing that came through for me from that interview was that he seems to still be playing the blame game with a lot of people - his ex, his mum, his dad, I bet his girlfriend has it bad putting up with him too.

Sounds like he's fallen out with his mum and dad, blaming everyone around him, these traits were shown after the Mayweather fight when he blamed Billy Graham and cut him off. Not a nice or classy thing to do at all. For me, he fell in love with the fame, the adulation, that is clear to hear from the interview - he loved all that man of the people crap but in reality it had all gone to his head.

Now it's all gone away and he's lashing out at those around him, the alcohol wll only make this much much worse. The saddest thing for me is I think that he thinks he will still be ok to have a few beers when he's 'better', for me he has been a LONG time alcoholic, a FUNCTIONING alcoholic they call it. The way the guy relished beer so much and went on like he was in the monestary just cos he couldn;t have beer for 3 months, I don't have beer for 3 months just out of choice and certainly don't feel like I have gone through one of life's great tests by doing so - this is why I think he has had a very long-term problem.

Hopefully he will sort himself out, we could have another Gazza/Alex Higgins on our hands in a few years if he's not careful.

I don't think Hatton is an alcoholic personally, a problem drinker yes, but not an alcoholic - in the sense he can't operate without a beer. But of course I have no idea really, it's just my tuppence thought.

I certainly don't think he has an issue with coke, he's been a bit naughty that's for sure, and he may very well have slipped into problem usage if unchecked.

I also personally don't think he's ready to recover, as Cobra has mentioned, Hatton prob' thinks he can still have a few beers when he's better.

He has a long road ahead of him, he needs to tackle the real reason for his use, and that is the mental side.
