Not sure what you mean mate. If the Board don't licence them, they can't box professionally under BBBoC rules.

He's a lucky boy keeping his promoters licence but glad he has. So far he has proved to be good at it and is building a decent stable. Nowhere near FW but i can see him as the only man to compete over the coming years.

No mention of a possible review of the situation? I thought maybe the board might have given Ricky a date to showcase he is cleaned up.
The man is suffering from depression, sounded like a "kick him while he's down" there. I do agree with the decision to suspend his licence - but that sounded a bit like a final decision.
Has Calzaghe promotions officially thrown in the towel when it comes to promoters licence? if not, why didn't the BBBoC hold a similar meeting to discuss Joe's confession.

.
when it comes to bringing the sport into disrepute I think a degree of expediency is required.

At the Hearing, the Board found Ricky Hatton guilty of misconduct in that his actions and behaviour were detrimental to the interests of Boxing and to the public interest and that he had brought the sport into disrepute.
How were/are his actions and behaviour detrimental to public interest?

Do we know for definiete that he is suffering from depression though?I mean aside from what he's said himself.Call me a cynic but alot of this strikes me as a very carefully cultivated plan to try and save/repair Rickys image!I could be wrong though but the signs are definietly there though.

Hmm if Ricky has lost his managers licence then all these fighters managed by him are now without a manager and there fore cant fight and also out of contract.
I hope his signing bonuss wasnt too big as they could skip town quiet easily now and sign with some one else.

Maybe but as depression is one of those things which can't be detected we don't know what is going on inside him.

Am I the only one who thinks the board have been harsh here?
Loss of three licenses and £20k is seems hard to me.
Not mentioning any names, but there has been fighters, managers and promoters who have done far worse things than this and the board haven't batted an eyelid.

Who will be managing Rickys fighters come saturday because the board are strict when a fighter manager contract has ran out insisting its renewed before you are allowed to fight.

The Boards decsion and the sickening censorship of any anti hatton posts on here is flawed and totally wrong.
Does Hatton have any financial interest in Boxrec? Does he actually own Boxrec?
The signs are certainly there.

The Board make it up as they go along. There rules clearly don't apply where Hatton is concerned.

I think the board have been very harsh on Ricky - but then again Fwank has been bleating about Hattons troubles at every oppurtunity ....so its no real surprise.
I think the incident between fwank and Calzaghe brings the game into disrepute much worse. Hattons problems are clearly brought on by an illness - depression.
The fwank v Calzaghe incident is clearly brought on by spite and greed.

Great decision from the Board. They've got this one bang on.
Now, if they failed to act with regards to someone holding licences who was, say, boss of a company which failed to pay a boxer £1.8m after a High Court ruling...that would really be an oversight in my opinion.

I've always wondered when sportsmen/women get fined by their governing bodies if it go towards something good like into improving the sports/youth facilities/charity etc. or does it go into the pockets of fat middle aged men.

I can't see how this is a punishment for Hatton. Unlikely to box again, small fine, and can carry on promoting.
