mccloskey dominated some shots barely grazing morrison face and he went down twice with petty shots.

McCloskey on top throughout, never tested. Strange finish with a glancing punch. Would like Khan next.

Acosta and Garcia won. Acosta was the star performer - brilliant performance and another early stoppage.

I have to say that I admire Paul McCloskey, not just because of his excellent boxing record.
But after winning last night he highlighted Kahn, Alexander and Bradley as future opponents.
He wants to fight the
best.
Young boxers should take heed of McCloskey's attitude,
There are a lot of current boxers who could take a leaf from his book as well.
If there were more McCloskey's in today's boxing then the fans would see the big fights!!!!!

is mccloskey any good then?
he seems to be very consistent at this level and by the sounds of it he's ready for the next stage.
i caught a bit of his fight vs the italian, didn't feel any need to watch more than a minute or two of the messy action, but maybe that was just an off night.

It's been generally accepted that his performance against Laury has been his worst for the last 2 years.
So it's probably a bad fight to try and find the measure of the man.

he does look extremely sharp and smooth vs morrison. i recall him getting tangled up and being sloppy vs lauri. he's obviosuly back to boxing his natural style.
if he gets a title shot you'd think he'd match up best with bradley, a good brawling fighter.
is he popular in ireland?

They are rematching in McCloskeys next fight.

mccloskey looked a great stylist v morrison. slick, quick, smooth, accurate rapid fire combos, completely relaxed and elusive.
one concern - he does look have a soft chest and a bit of a spare tyre around the hips. doesn't look a hard, starving, hungry fighter. but he boxes very well on the evidence of last night and none of the domestic guys are going to touch him.
i'd really like to see him vs bradley.
will mccloskey v witter ever be in the works, i wonder? lynes, morris, wright - is witter the next step? wopuld that fight mean anything, anymore?
