Kevin Evans is boxing for Wales at heavy, Asare is a light heavy

Now, this will be interetsing. If there are some good and competative challengers across the Commonwealth, this begs the question- why are Commonwealth challengers in the professional ranks so bad?

I am a bit rubbish on the amateurs, other than Bradley Saunders, I don't know any of the others. Can anyone shed any light on the ones to watch out for?

If there is a Paddy fighting one of them then yes without doubt we will be covering them!

In the English team Iain Weaver is class - a real quality operator.

Haven't seen him box yet myself, but Callum Smith is the youngest of the Smith bros. I will be interested to see how he gets on...

I'm not too clued up with the bigger kids at amateur level, but the smaller lads are really talented.

Weaver, Stalker, Stubbs (Yafai too) and Smith, are all fantastic prospects. Not only that, but there are really good kids who didn't make the Commomwealth squad.

Aye, Weaver is my favourite.

the commonwealth games are one of the easiest competitions to medal at for boxers obviously you get a few stand out performers but considering the prestige the fighters get from winning it compared to most multi nation events(especially involving the eastern european countries) it doesnt normally take so much to medal

correct and you will probably get triple the media coverage.

I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing the Indian fella at middleweight Vijender Singh box. He got bronze medals at the olympics and the worlds. Would be good for them, the indians actually have a good team.

Barnes 49 stubs 52 weaver 56 stalker 60 sanders 69 smith an normally at the commonwealths heavier weights are easier so I think England could maybe beat the 5 gold we got in Australia

Frankie, who is the surprise package (nowt to do with speedos) in the English team.

I already mentioned Tommy McCarthy, he gave Kenny Egan a real good go in the Irish seniors this year and I woulnt be shocked if he is on the plane to London in 2012 and not Egan!

But at 52kg we have Michael Conlan, younger brother of new pro Jamie Conlan, he is a lightening wee fighter and laods of skill.

With Yafai gone he could well be a hot prospect.

Jones (Wales) can make an impact at super heavy if his confidence is up....

Don't forget there are also 3 UK boxers boxing for Jamaica and 1 for Pakistan (Haroon Khan)

The English light-welter is an interesting division, bradley saunders and scotty cardle both great prospects i think cardle will be a very good pro!!
