What If Tommy had given Lennox Lewis Aids?

......We all remember the Tommy Morrison -Lennox Lewis fight.......at this stage tommy was a 26 year old former movie star, who had beaten Foreman, who had been wild and inconsistent but was still young and the biggest American white hope out there seemingly ready to take on the big guns starting with Lewis.....Lewis himself was starting to show improvement with Emmanuel Steward...but had not begun his "legacy" in earnest..........of course we all know what happened during the fight and after in both mens lives........Tommy lost and was diagnosed with AIDS and Lewis was cleared of HIV and went on to dominate for 8 years and more less establish himself as an all time great....................my question is this.......what if Tommy had got cut badly during the fight and Lennox got cut too......and Tommy gave Lennox AIDS!!!!!!!!......how different would the heavyweight scene had been for the next 10 years?...............who do you think would have dominated the HW scene during 1996-2004 with no Lewis around?...........do you think Tyson or Holyfield ? Bowe or Golota?......or would the Klitchko's years of dominance have started earlier?.....would an Ibeabuchi or Tua or Rahman have made more waves.......Lewis ended the rising stars of Golota and Grant prematurely before they really had a chance and both never recovered..with no Lewis in their way would things have been different.....surely the HW landscape would have been totally different in the years 1996-2003 without Lewis on the scene since he was the emperor of HW boxing in those years?...would a Roy Jones have stepped up sooner with no Lennox in his way.....my question is simple......how do you see the heavyweight scene panning out during 1996-2003 if Tommy had give Lennox AIDS in their 1995 fight?

..what if lennox lewis had been a miscarriage? what if tommy morrison had become a chemist instead of a boxer? what if ali had followed his father trade and become a sign painter?
this "what if " conjecture is silly..it can just lead to a "Who knows" reply and of course nobody knows.....what if i hadn't opened this thread ? what if i had decided not to reply? what if boxbuzz had taken up crocheting instead of following boxing?

ON a more serious note,
what if instead of the "parachute man" dropping in from the sky in Bowe Holyfield fight it was RODAN that flew in? I doubt the crowd could have muscled him around the way they did the parachutist. I'm thinkin that would have put a completely different spin to things. Perhaps affecting all of boxing. Not just the fans at that particular fight who would have witnessed the blood letting.

Think about it.
no...I'm serious....
I mean....I'm just sayin........what if?

im not too impressed by the
quality of character and reply this most poignant of thread has attracted so
far. After all we have had "what if ali hadnt come back" theads.
As devastating a tragedy tommy's being infected was. Lennox being an innocent victim would have been more so and the heavyweight picture would have been changed immeasurably in what was a pivotal time for hw boxing in the mid 90's...........there was still the pretence tyson could be what he was...........george foreman continued to defy the ages........there was as deep a talent pool of hws as the 1970's as 1995 ended tyson, holyfield, bowe and foreman were still utterly relavent and the era of ex soviet fighters starting to take over was 7-8 years away........i think it was an interesting time

Don't be disheartened, mate. The thread title just sounds like a B-Movie film or a story from "Tales From The Crypt".

One of the funniest things I've ever read on this forum.

The term
"edited by moderator due to controversial and inflammatory comment " comes to mind, but I can't recall who said it and to whom.

Any of you guys ever wonder why BOTP only has 4-5 regular posters left and gets maybe 10 posts a day lately? its online warriors like dberry who has been trolling me for weeks due to my daring to say "gday" in a thread in his aussie forum. That place gets about 10 posts a day and 3-4 regular posters and now this maggot is over here to do likewise to the BOTP forum. No need to bother bruce, jobs already done BOTP is just irene and saad now arguing amongst themselves as everyone else is either bullied away while boxbuzz sits and does nothing or like me they decide to leave! This will be my last post here im off to a better forum with quality posters

It's ok to disagree
and I request to keep the language civil.
Mugabi, I get a kick out of some of your posts, even if I disagree, or just don't get where you're coming from. And I have pretty eclectic parameters when it comes to being open minded and you've still managed to annoy me on occasion.
Bout all I can say is Just continue to do your best.
You'll just have to learn to accept that people have vastly different takes on these things.

What if Vitali had Wolverine's powers? Then he would have been able to heal his cut during his fight with Lewis...and won the fight.
On that note, he would have also been able to heal his torn rotator cuff against Byrd.
Vitali with Wolverine power would be undefeated
Oh, and Jack Root with Superman power would beat 'em all.

What if Vitali had instead of Wolverine's power have had Superman powers? He wouldn't have have to cure himself because he would've never been cut in the first place.

Sorry, Jack Root had them first, thus 136 year old Root would make it impossible for Lewis to go any higher than number one contender.

It's about time that Jack Root got the respect he deserves.
