Good spell for British HW action

Haye aside, we might not have any world class guys, but there have been some good domestic heavyweight scraps recently, which just goes to show the benefit of competitive matchmaking.
Chisora-Sexton 2, Harrison-Sprott 2, Fury-McDermott 1 and the last HW Prizefighter were all very entertaining.

Agree Oliver, doesnt seem so long ago it was just repeated permutations of Sprott, Williams, Skelton and Harrison. There are some decent bouts ahead too, a number of prospects currently at a similar(ish) level.

That wasn't a bad spell, either. A lot of people soured on those names because of Williams-Harrison 1 and Skelton-Sprott 2, but between them they had some decent fights, and then with Potter, Reid, Francis, Holden and Long in the mix too, that was quite an entertaining spell.
The current batch could continue to throw up some interesting scraps if the standard of matchmaking continues. Let's see Larry, Price and Dallas step it up.

Yes, those fights you mentioned were stinkers, but I thought the whole process became boring. The winner of every fight was 'guaranteed' a world title shot but would end up just fighting one of the other guys - again. Just before the Mormeck fight, Haye spoke about his move up to heavyweight and was extremely keen to avoid the "round robin" of fights that was occuring at the time. Of course there were exceptions to rule (Sprott Harrison 1, Harrison Williams 2) but on the whole I thought it became tedious.
It would be great to see the current batch move on. If I'm being honest, of all the hw prospects that we were debating two years ago, I really didn't see Chisora being the one to lead the way. Fair play to him!

Couldnt agree more Oliver....the latest shows and fights on SKY have been what they should be.....last weeks Foster bill was great and Prizefighter is a revelation to me.

I did, but you have too much power for this level. You seem to know something we don't. Give us a clue, is he 1-10 or 10-20?

Yes I did, and what I said wasn't meant as a criticism; what I meant was let's hope you, Dallas and Price do what Chisora, Sexton and Fury have done - fight each other and/or for higher titles
