sprott looked fast, confident in his 1st fight and did enough to be crowned the prizefighter champion.
I think he should get a european title shot in the next few months.
Skelton as others have mentioned either retires or fights the likes of fury, larry, towers, dallas, price.

Personally, I'd like to see him in against larry. It would a good tear up n would be a good name on larry's record.

I think Matt should probably retire now.
Michael Sprott could go after the European title or perhaps Dereck Chisora. Maybe a rematch with Audley Harrison.

skelton's resistance has gone :!: fathertime has caught up with him finally.

Chisora should fight Sprott next and the winner then fighting Sosnowski for the European, Chisora is way to raw for a Klitschko and would get a possibly career ending pummelling so should be built up slowly! Skelton should maybe fight Fury for the British if Chisora vacates with the winner fighting Sexton. It's actually looking decent on the domestic scene now

The immediate reaction to Skelton losing at his age is that he should retire, but on the other hand he clearly still enjoys fighting, so I guess it depends what level he'd be happy fighting at. He will clearly never return to world level, or even close to it, so will he be content on the domestic circuit? If so, he can still be competitive.

At 44, and with his punch resistance clearly deserting him, I think Skelton would be sensible to call it a day. Hopefully he's made enough money to do so, he's had a career to be proud of for someone who turned over to boxing so late.

The three round format doesn't suit an old grinder like Matt, but even so, the way he went down in his second round fight showed that the whiskers are deserting him somewhat.

Rogan outworked and outhearted him in their fight, the one thing which nobody was ever able to do to Skelton - the signs were there that the old engine is sputtering a bit, now his chin seems be cracked too.

In my humble opinion, he'd be advisable to call it a day. Its his decision obviously, but it would be a shame to see him get a pasting, and at 44, the risks only increase.
