The Sunday afternoon show at Rotherham's Magna Centre has been cancelled due to a riot. The police are struggling to control the riot as I write, and have sprayed tear gas. Fans of boxer Scott Hayward - who sold 200 tickets for the show - are responsible for the mayhem.

WOW...unbelievable. I wonder what actually sparked all this off?

First time I have heard of a riot during an afternoon show.... Crazy.

I'm alive Although I wouldnt recommend inhaling gas like I did!! The police could have warned the innocent, perhaps.

A crazy but very sad afternoon. I really feel for promoter David Coldwell. Scott Haywood's fans will probably cause trouble wherever they go. If it wasn't Coldwell's it would have been some other poor promoters show.

Surley Scott Haywood is going to find it hard to get fights after his fans have been linked to this trouble.

What promoter is going to want to touch him

Read your report on secondsout, that must have been some experience. Did you/could you get any impressions of Teasdale. He must feel so gutted now. And went Michael Pass shouted to calm the lads down was that in his posh voice or his normal voice (cause I've heard he speaks quite differently aswell).

Got a feel a bit for Herol aswell, must have been hard for him as he's trained this kid and now he couldn't perform.

What happens to the fighters wages in situations like this?

I take it you Bennie was there aswell?

True. Although Haywood flogged 200 tickets at £30 a pop - that's good business - especially for a small hall promoter. But do the pros outweigh the cons? Hmm, probably not. Sadly yesterday's fracas is front page news in South Yorkshire - for all the wrong reasons.

My guess is Haywood will be confined to dinner shows. Suit and tie job at £50 quid a ticket. That should discourage some of his "supporters". They normally only wear football shirts.

Herol Graham wasnt there Stu. Neither was promoter Tommy Gilmour who admirably missed the show to go to hospital with Allan Foster. who fought Tony Dodson on Saturday night. Foster claimed of feeling unwell after the show - no word on how he is now. I presume he's been realised otherwise we'd have heard something.

Teasdale did quite well but he's very upright and did get clipped. It was an excellent left hook which floored Cito inside the opening 30 seconds though. I did speak to a few people "in the know" yesterday and the word is Teasdale may possess a suspect set of whiskers. Time will tell.

Michael Pass tried his best to calm things down but it just kicked off, he didnt have a hope in hell. He has quite a strong Lancastrian accent but you'd never know it when he picks up a mike.

Shame about Teasdale too - I've heard a lot about him and I hope the chinny rumours are just that..

I think Rob McCracken had the same problem with his "fans", and it was one of the reasons he went to the States..

It's often the case if you associate closely with a football team. Many McCraken fans were Birmingham City hooligan types. That night at the NEC Steve Foster's Man Utd fan base played their own part in the violence.

Having said that both Woodhall and Hatton have avoided any such unsavoury incidents.
