I didn't know you meant Favorite punch from a fighter. I don't think I'd have an answer to that.
My favorite punch to land if I'm fighting somebody is a Left Hook, my most powerful punch.
A Properly timed Uppercut is also a thing of beauty

My thoughts exactly.
Love the left hook. Love a good uppercut.

...i think the left jab is the best and most important punch in boxing. it's good on defense, on offense and can set up every other punch in the arsenal

Nothing beats the good 'ol left hook to the liver, devastating and debilitating. Put's a guy out almost every time and you never forget that kind of pain. I'll take a hook to the head any day over a liver shot.

boxerjosh....welcome to the club..
my post refers to the left jab....not a left hook...an entirely different punch, with different results. i don't think one could jab to the liver, unless he was a midget.

You're all fools.
How on Earth can anything compare with the 45-degree, Chris Eubank, "Uppercut Of Death," as highlighted on this forum a few months back? A blow so fatal, Eubank withheld from using it throughout his career, unleashing just the once for the world to gape at...so Gambler would have us believe.
This thing was like the Boxing equivalent of a Chuck Norris roundhouse.

GI......like the proverbial stopped clock, on occasion you have it exactly correct.

I guess if one devotes their posts to rambling, tangent-riddled, non-committal segues & side-bars, they're never quite, "wrong," (nor right) in the end, are they?

...i don't think the uppercut of death has the versatility of the left jab. it's a punch i wouldn't try to lead with.
i'm especially impressed by shorter boxers out-jabbing their taller foes. emile griffith was especially adept at this, and so was early tyson.
hard to do. the shorter marciano, for example, didn't even try. he used his head instead.
(no, i am not saying he "out thought his opponenets...you know damn well what i mean.)

Holyfied also quite often delivered the "thinking man's" punch.
and for this thoughtful contribution I find that you are even "righter" than G.I.
Not that that is some great accomplishment. He's not "quite right" for the most part.

Whitaker's jab was so good but my favourite was probably James Toney's turning the left shoulder and getting down low bringing in the right hand straight.

Hearn's overhand right might be peachier.
You might ask Roberto about that.

To throw, the jab. That and a decent chin were about all i had.
To watch,I like the left hook artists. Bob Foster comes to mind. Loved the way he brought that thing home.
