Anyone on here going, looks a good top table of British fighters with Buncey as MC, should be a good night and hopefully raise some decent money for the lad.

I think it's a dinner, rather than a live boxing match.

he collapsed in his dressing room after his central area fight with brian rose last year on the undercard of jamie moore vs ryan rhodes, he subsequently went into a coma for quite a while.. im not too sure on how his recovery is coming along but this is a benefit night for him due to his retirement from the game... i wish him and all his family the best and hope this is a massively succesful night.

Is there going to be an auction at this event?
My trainer and I were talking today about donating either something for the auction from the Scouse lads or selling it down here and sending the cash/cheque up to Jason. If it's £500 it will help towards Jason.

Hi Im Jasons sister

Thankyou everyone for your support. The evening did raise approx £15k. It was a brilliant evening. Unfortunately a few dozen people left before the main speeches of the night from my dad, John Rushton, and of course Jason. The speeches were without doubt the highlight of the evening. A massive thankyou to last nights organisers, and all the boxers who gave up their time. Also Mr Bunce...Buncy. Top job :TU:

Jason is making good progress, and he is so so grateful for everyone that attended last night. He was overwhelmed by the support. It means alot to him that he has not been forgotten by the people involved in the sport that he loved so much.

Jason was a true athlete, and although not a huge name, he gave his all to the sport. He was so passionate and dedicated as a fighter. Sadly that was all taken away from him and that has been really hard for Jason to come to terms with. He had some cracking contests, and fought some of britains toughest opponents, exchanging punches with the likes of Michael Jennings and Matthew Hall. He felt so privileged to be a professional boxer, and loved the time he was able to spend with his dad who was also his trainer, manager and promotor. They were a strong unit, and still maintain that bond today, as they battle through Jasons rehab together.

Jason has always been a fighter, and even though no longer a boxer, he is still fighting. Fightin the biggest and most important battle of his life. The courage, strength and determination that he is showing would put most professional boxers to shame. Without question, this is a fight he will win.

If your reading this Jason, Im so proud of you. Keep fighting

It was a very moving night.
Jason's speech was sensational.
Junior Witter, Joe Murray, Ryan Rhodes, Dean Bramhald, Richard Towers, Carl Baker, Craig Watson, Martin Murray, Anthony Crolla, Kell Brook, Jon Jo Irwin and Jamie Moore all showed up. That's a great line-up.
Frank Maloney, the Hattons, allegedly and the BBBofC all had a table.
It was a delight to be involved.

Adios.

Well done to everyone involved.Sounds like a great success and 15k is a fantastic effort.I hope, over time, Jason makes a good recovery.I felt very moved reading his interview in Boxing News.he can feel very proud having a) boxed professionally against some very good pro's and b) on some pretty big shows.A very good achievement that.
