Just seen an interview with A Force on skysportsnews and he was mentioning how Tony Tiger Thompson dropped David Haye in sparring a couple of weeks back.

Should this be worrying for Haye or is to be expected from heavyweight sparring?

If this is true coupled with that I've just been watching top 10 prizefighter moments (with Audley's huge KO of Barret the number 1 moment) added to this the addition of Groves to the undercard is leaving me seriously excited about heading to the MEN in a couple of weeks.

Did he get up? If so, who cares. Mistakes happen- better in the gym then on the night.

Takaloo reckoned he got the better of Wayne Alexander in sparring, but what happened when it took place for real.

Regardless of whether this is true or not, it will do wonders for Harrison's confidence which could make for a more competitive fight.

I think Tyson got dropped in sparring, just before he lost to Douglas.

Don't think it'll worry the Haye camp too much, they already know he doesn't hold a shot too well.
It should give Audley a boost though, and maybe some much needed confidence.

Has anyone other than Aud confirmed this?

Maybe Sky hype to further PPV sales?

Not much of an issue I think. Might give Harrison confidence and might wind up Haye even more, which can also be of benefit to Audley I guess.

Barrett dropped Haye in a fight so I can't see this news being that earth shattering! Also, Thompson is a better fighter than Audley!

McCall dropped him as well during al particularly "lively" sparring session as well, Tyson tried to continue it in the locker rooms apparently afterwards but got dragged away.

How would Audley know? Has anyone (apart from Audley) stated it?

Isn't that what sparring is for, to highlight these problems before it's too late? Better to get dropped during training, learn from it and not make the same mistake on the night. If he was put down, he'll remember not to get too careless next time!!!

How would people perceive this if it was the other way round?

“Harrison’s chinny”, “He’s going to get KO’d early”, “He’ll be gun shy” etc??

Exactly Ben its no great surprise is it really. Take the Klitschko boys out and Thompson would have a chance with all the other heavies for me so perhaps if anything it will be the wake up call that all champions need from time to time.

Could funnily be the worst thing that has happened for Harrison because he knew Haye had a fragility about him anyway, all this has done is remind Haye of that fact.

I've never seen Thompson as I don't really watch the heavies - but heavyweight boxing is like that and a chin is a chin. You cannot train it or put muscles on it. If there is a weak chin in a heavyweight fight then there's nothing fighter A can do if fighter B lands on it.

I know what you mean though, as in keeping it tucked away now he knows the mistakes he's made - I wasn't trying to shoot you down
