According to a boxrec news article by the Law , Sprott is hoping to negotiate a fight in march with Roy Jones Jnr .

Whilst i do believe Sprott could beat him , Would jones jnr go for it ?
Whats in it for him , as if Roy does fancy stepping up to heavy again then surely he would need a bigger name than sprott , otherwise the american public will just not be interested , Ok there would be interest in this country , but would americans look at sprotts record and think it would be just a forgone conclusion that Jones jnr would win , and therfor call him shot etc when sprott ko's him .

Given how far from his prime Roy is now I wouldn;t be surprised to see Sprott win. Roy's chin has gone and he's a lot more hittable now. Whilst not a massive puncher Sprott hits harder than Green, Tarver and Johnson. I know Roy fancies a shot at Haye, but he should just dream about it because Haye will destroy him. Hopkins fancies a shot at Haye but admitted if Haye lands flush just once it's night night and his defence is way better's than Roy's is now. If Roy really wants a shot at Haye I suppose Sprott would be seen as a winnable fight. It would be a sell out in this country but I can;t see the yanks going for it.

Wouldn't Roy Jones Jr vs Evander Holyfield make more sense?

Is Sprott the best British opponent that Jones could fight?
I would have thought Holyfield would attract more viewers than Sprott even in Britain. How popular is Sprott?

Roy Jones would be a fool to take this fight in fact he should just retire. He isnt a heavy weight and he's nowhere near his prime days. If a light heavy can flatten him what is a heavy going to do to him. Sprott is european level at the moment he looked sharp and fast in prize fighter and he can punch.
Back in the day RJJ would win this fight easily but he's a shadow of his former self. Having said that he may take the fight because he's greedy and seems to be deluded into thinking he still has untapped gas in the tank.
If hopkins or RJJ got in the ring with haye i honestly thing they would get seriously hurt, it just isnt safe for boxing. Theere would be much more dignity in fighting holyfield, although holyfield would flatten jones too.

I think the opponent would be virtually irrelevant if Jones returns to heavyweight. If he fights a top guy, the fight won't appeal as it will be assumed he will be destroyed. If he fights a lesser guy, it will still draw some measure of curiosity regardless of who it is, but it will be more morbod curiosity than anything, because nobody, and I mean nobody, will buy into it being the start of any title run. Pound-for-pound, and internationally, Sprott is no more or no less bankable than an Omar Sheika or Danny Santiago, so Jones may as well do the "world tour" thing, because people in other countries will pay to see him, even the much-faded contemporary version.

Jones will get stretched out if he fights sprott. His chin is cracked badly now. One solid shot and he's in lala land.

Sad state of affairs when Sprott "calls" you out. Just chuck it Roy - youve seen better days for sure - don't go lowering your stock even further.

x2 It's really bad for boxing if this fight happens because Sprott would probably win. Good hard working domestic champion (at heavyweight) calls out legend (at middle-light heavy) very sad state of affairs.
