I won't watch the Louis -Marciano one as I am reading "!In Black and White" at the moment - the Joe Louis, Jesse Owens stories, by Don Macrae.

I don't want to spoil it by finding out the result.

I reckon Louis will batter Rocky!

Hmmm...we many people know that Marciano has a certain, distinguishing feature about his boxing record....

Yes that's right, he only got into boxing very late in life, no doubt that is what you refer to. :P

Are you joking? Surely you must know the result to this fight. I think I'm being stupid here, as you MUST know the result....right?

Anyway class book, another quality book to read is "King if the World" by David Remnick.

McRae's "Dark Trade" is the best one I've read.

I'm off on holiday on Sunday, popping into WH Smith tonight to try and get hold of this very book which every boxing fan I've spoken with speaks so highly of.

C'mon Strike, you're smarter than that.... :o Maybe you're missing the pretty ladies from ESB avatar...

I read King of the World last year, very good, you should try that instead of 'King if the World'

Cracking book and a significant trigger to my boxing obsession.

Interviews with all the ones you want to hear from - Tyson, Jones Jr, DeLaHoya, Toney (his obvious favourite) Hamed, Eubank and co.

What is is about South Africans and Sports Journalism?

If you can stand the horrendous amount of spelling mistakes I'd go for Boxing Confidential by Jim Brady. There's as much shit and corruption in there as you could ever want to read about. Pretty funny in parts too.

It is a fair guess that I am kidding, as a boxing records site is a strange place to be claiming that you didn't know who won out of those two!!

I know Louis Ko'd Marciano in the last round.

Yeah I figured it had to be a joke, but there are the odd one or two that have just started watching.

I dont think much of the emoticons here...like this guy  He looks like a twat. Not really laughing, but just got some facial spasm.

Goz...try "King IF the World" it is even better than Remnicks first book. :D

Dark Trade is indeed quality.

Marciano v Louis is a very sad sight, poor Joe looks an old man long before he gets sent through the ropes.
Even Rocky was in tears after the fight, having just destroyed his boxing hero.
Think it'll only be highlights, so there'll be others in the show.

Eurosport are as eccentric as ever, so who knows what else they'll show.
Their idea of "Boxing Classics" could quite easily be Hagler/Hearns followed by Nelson/DeLeon.

i've been half expecting ch5 to show nelson/de leon cos they do the pro box shos and pro box was doing the fights around the time of nelson/de leon, if they don't hurry up and show up i'm gonna start complaining.
