How do people see this going? Could maybe be Gavin's first real test.

i see people from Birmingham and people from Wolverhampton fighting in the crowd, in the taxirank outside, at train stations and motorway service stations up the length of the M6.

and i see Gavin stopping him within 4.

A stoppage would be a good result, but one that I'd expect Frankie to get, in or around the sixth. It will be a good comparison to Nigel Wrights recent clash with Harrison and the result should show that Gavin is ready for a tilt at the British...

After what went on at the last show I was gob smacked when they made this derby match next.

Lot of ill feeling between Blues and Wolves. Could be a right old tear up outside the ropes.

Inside the ropes Frankie will out class him. It won't go 6 imo.

Gavin by stoppage. Harrison is not durable enough at this level, but it's still a reasonable enough matchup. Presume it's for the Midlands title.

Former world amateur champion Frankie Gavin received a wake-up call in his last fight when he laboured to a five-round stoppage of Michael Kelly in Birmingham in September.
The unbeaten Gavin, on home soil, went in there expecting to walk through the gutsy Irishman as he had walked through most of his other opponents. He got the job done in the end but he looked like a work in progress after just eight fights, loading up too much, dropping his hands too much, losing concentration too much. "Funtime" Frankie, 25, continues his ring education with a 12-rounder against Wolverhampton brickie Dean Harrison in Liverpool on December 11.
Harrison challenged for the British light-welterweight title last year and was floored and stopped in four rounds by Belfast strongman Paul McCloskey, although he took the shot at late notice. Since then, Harrison, 27, has won two of his four fights and went 10 rounds in a challenge for the English light-welterweight title held by Nigel Wright, a southpaw like Gavin. He looks good if not brilliant, tough if not immune to punishment, aggressive if not relentless, and he has a history of marking up. It all adds up to a win for the sharp-hitting, counterpunching Gavin, who we can expect to see boxing more in the early rounds before he unloads the heavier artillery and forces a stoppage in the middle to later rounds. A cuts win is not out of the question.

Frankie gonna dominate this kid from start to finish!! I see it being a very painful boxing lesson for Dean Harrison.. Frankie is without question the best fighter in the country for me, Box/Puncher with unreal defence and boxing skills and also has excellent reaction speed too!! Frankie for me is the future face British boxing....

Frankie Gavin is absolute class! I doubt he can be really tested at this level but Harrison is tough and may cause a couple of problems but Gavin will have all the answers and beat him late or maybe points

I disagree that Frankie was handed a 'wake-up call' against Kelly, I thought Gavin looked very controlled, rather than laboured, throughout. With the fight being his first scheduled for 10, Gavin sensibly eased his way into it and never looked troubled. I didn't see anything that was close to a 'wake-up call' to be honest.

he took one clean punch all night from what i remember so yeah, didn't look to struggle too much from where I was sitting.

Frankie boxed the best fight in his career imo last fight against Kelly, Dominated him, Looked very controlled and years ahead of were he should be at this stage, Also showed great power and versatility against a fellow world medalist!! Gavin is producing the goods at every level, Believe me when I say this, FRANKIE GAVIN WILL BE THE FACE OF BRITISH BOXING within the next 18 months!!

No offence but my last fight was real easy never really got caught an with nothing big anyway buT I think this will be tough but I'm sure I will come through

McCloskey is from Dungiven, Co. Derry. He's not from Belfast

Frankie's fight was stopped with seconds left in the 5th. Frankie was in control throughout - he was patient, whipped in some lovely body shots and long lefts to the head - won at a canter really, controlling the distance and pace of the fight with ease.

Soft stoppage though I though. Kelly wasn't winning anything but he wasn't wobbled or badly shaken when stopped - he was just getting out boxed and out gunned.

He wasn't throwing back tho an the ref was asking him too an it was like he never wanted to know from round 4

I fancy Gavin to win pretty comfortably. Harrison is decent but always found wanting when he's moved up a level and Gavin is rapidly becoming a contender. Gavin tko5.

i think gavin is in 4 a good scrap, unless harrison get's scared of the hype.

Frankie will box his head off and stop him in the middle rounds. Frankie is class, very very bright future ahead
