The officiall thread,
how do you blokes see this fight on Wednesday? I'm hoping the scrap goes the distance, Green cleans Flores in the mid rounds after hopefully a good swack for me...

Danny is a world class LHW, I do not think he is to that level in CW. Flores will absorb what is thrown at him, and he will use his size to bully and demoralize Danny and he will get a points victory. Danny has not met a true CW yet, and not for the lack of trying he will get found out.

Sorry chaps, Flores pts.

Fair enough mate, you've stated some good points.

I like Green by decision. After that, the most likely outcome for me is Flores by decision. 55-45 fight imo. I would be really surprised if Green ended it early or in the middle rounds. If he stops Flores, I think it will late.

I wonder what BJ will weigh in at.

He hasn't had to come at some artificial "catch-weight" has he?

Flores hates going backwards and his hands drop when he does.My pick was Danny by KO/TKO around round 7/8. After looking at Flores body shape and the muscle definition I dont think he has come here to try and outbox Danny. Ithink he is here to go to war and brawl with Green. This could end early either way. Im expecting fireworks early. Will stay with a TKo to Green.....rnd, well I stay with my first thoughts of 7 or 8 but wont be surprised if its earlier.

I'm not sure what you mean, Red.

What are you expecting Flores to weigh in at? Or are you saying that is irrelevant?

this fight really does seem like it could go either way. i dont see ANYONE ever knocking green out he is to hard a man for that, but i could see green having trouble hitting flores or maybe not being able to land cleanly like with mundine. so a flores ud is possible.

what i would like to see is a bloody brawl with lots of blood then in the last 30 seconds of the 12 round green lands a massive uppercut catapulting flores out of the ring on to judges table.
probably not that likely but would be pretty dam cool

we have had a bunch of people ask the same question here. its getting a little old is all mate. i can see why ppl are frustrated with danny and rightly so. but as has been said the guy is trying to stay active, and he has now taken a step in the right direction. this should be a great CW fight. IMO danny will weigh in around 86/87kg, and BJ 90.7kg, danny on fight night will be 86-88, BJ i would assume around 92-95kg on the night.

Flores is rated no 6 contender for the IBO Cruiserweight Title. If he challenged Green and Green refused to fight him, under the IBO's rules, Green would have to relinquish his title.

I think the rule with the IBO is anybody they rate in the top 35 can challenge and the champion must accept the challenge or relinquish the title unless the champion is defending against a fighter with a higher rating. Wlad Klitschko has his IBO heavyweight title on the line against Chisora.
I do not know if that is why a boxer outside the top ten on Boxrec is getting a crack at Wlad.

Boxrec ratings are bollox Brute, they really are nowhere near the mark, for some reason both Australian and British fighters get automatic top 20 rankings soon as they beat a top 50 guy.

It's some of the most inaccurate rankings I've seen

The guy hasn't fought in 15 months. He shouldn't be rated in the top 10

It's calculated. It can't be biased towards a nationality. See the logic behind it: http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/BoxRe ... escription

Tell the IBO, they make the rules. As for the break, Green was inactive for 16 months after the Drewes fight, Vitali Klitschko had a break of nearly four years before his comeback win against Peter.

So in summary boxing at the top has become by and large a joke. Neither guy deserves to be fighting for an (alleged) title

The champion has a 30-3-0 record with 27KOs, has never been stopped and previously held the WBA light heavyweight title.

The challenger has a 24-0-1 record.

What do you want?
