There were several serious long-time posters on here who fancied Aud to produce...

i really dont get how anybody could have give audley a chance? he has looked like utter dog sh*t every time he has fought and people thought he could beat the heavyweight champion 10 years younger then him? if audley had somehow pulled off a miracle i would have put it right up there with foreman beating moorer a one of the biggest upsets of all time.

People - myself included - were giving Audley a chance for two reasons..
1. That Audley would turn up and give it a good go ... he did have a punchers chance regardless how shyte we knew he is.
2. Haye just isn`t that good.

1. audley is not a puncher. you actually have to throw punches with a chance of being sucessful.

2. haye is league's above harrison everybody knows that.

What gets me is, it was his chance, wouldn't you rather get laid out trying than laid out throwing nothing? You have to take these chances.

but in the defence of those who went for Audley and i can see why as he really is a great talker.

but he was always a great talker and that didnt help him in previous fights did it?

i agree, but Audley has always had something and i think a lot of people are a sucker for a Rocky style fairy tale story. I have been watching boxing for 25 years and i found myself thinking he had a chance at times.

someone on here said that its easy to get sucked into the hype and they were spot on. of course sky are going to bill this up as a close fight, there not going to advertise that "this is going to be a one sided beat down make sure you buy the ppv" are they? i just remember my first thought when i heard about this fight, and that thought was "complete mismatch" and i always stick with my original instinct.

I give Audley a punchers chance like most. I would give a pushing 50 year old Oliver McCall the same sort of chance, so I am not completely like WTF when I saw so many respectable posters call him a live dog. I think almost every decent punching Heavyweight is a live dog against Haye. He's vulnerable, not super tough to hit and fights with a low guard - means he will always be exciting.

However, what I did surprise me more was the bit of a love fest we had for Audley post Prizefighter and particularly post Sprott 2. The guy might be stubborn, but there is no heart, no bottle - never has been, never will be. He fought petrified tonight, and that's what it has been like all his career. He is scared of taking anything, scared of leaving himself open. Yes, this is the heavyweight title of the world against one of the finest fighters out there. However, for 5 minutes against Coleman Barratt - it was exactly the same... too scared to get countered.
