Next for Haye

Who is he 'really' going to fight next then do you think?
After all of the this talk about fighting Wlad or Vitali again I'm less inclined to believe him this time. The confusing part for me was when the fight/s did not materialise the 1st time around he just went quiet rather than explain himself. If he'd of said about the 'slave contact' at the time it would have stopped all the 'Haye's all mouth' talk at the time. Chisora divulged the details of how it all work with the Klits so I can't see why Haye didn't save some face at the time.
I guess PR works better that way I'm not sure.

Anyway I can see Chagaev is interested, maybe he'll have a pop at him.

Chagaev is the mandatory. It's either him or a Klitschko.

Booth said he was '99.9% recurring' sure that it would be a Klitschko next.

The offer that Bernd Boente said was on the table on Five Live on Sunday morning was more than fair.

Anything other than Klitschko is poor! But Adamek would surely soften the blow

Vitali has to fight Solis v Austin winner next. It be Wlad about June next year then.

I'm guessing Haye including Booth said that the 1st time around though?

The fight with Wlad has been made before, if you can remember. It was (allegedly) Setanta going bust that stopped it from happening.

I do remember that yes, Haye pulling an injury for that one. I wasn't thinking of that one sorry, I meant after that he reassured us it was going to happen definitely and then he went quiet. At that point people were calling haye a chicken etc after that.

yes. even the british PPV revenue, haye should concede 50% IMO. he still gets a huge payday, and then, assuming he is as confident of winning as he makes out, will have a stronger bargaining position in future if he does beat a Klit then maybe next time he is in a position to call the shots with negotiations with say Vitali after he's say beaten Wlad.

They both need each other lets face it i think this match can be made now

I can imagine it being made fairly easily I think the Haye camp have held out and probably moved the klits to where they want them took the Audley fight for a bit more cash and to delay and now they will probably ready to accept the terms

if you look at the deal Haye wil be getting now in comparison to when he signed to fight him Summer 09 its miles better both in terms of global exposure and cash

Adam Smith asked him a good question after the fight when he wanted to know if he would be prepared to take a bit less money just to make sure the fights happened and Haye said he wanted everything split down the middle, which sounds like the offer thats on the table. What Haye seemed to want was either UK TV money to himself or more than 50% worth of the German TV deal because it wouldn't be on PPV in Germany due to the Klits existing TV deal.

Haye would still make a fortune and after all the potential Klit fights falling through leaving fans out of pocket, he needs to do all he can to make this happen.

yes from what I read, Haye wanted UK TV money and for Klit to have the German TV money. But because UK is PPV and Germany isnt PPV the difference between the two revenue streams would be significant meaning Haye would earn a lot more overall than Klit!!

50/50 on everything seems fair to me, this is the only "big" fight out there at the moment!!

Its not like either of them are on the poverty line and they promote themselves which means no promoters deductions either.

It looks like Sauerland (a clause in the Valuev contract?) and Golden Boy are taking a cut of whatever Haye makes.

Aye, I think they're being generous so there's no moral room for manoeuvre on Team Haye's part here.

Well, they'll try, of course

if there is no sign of a klitschko fight then i would like to see him vs povetkin to be honest, i think he is probably the toughest test of anyone else other than the brothers, and it needs to be someone credible as opposed to those who may not be worthy of a chance like we have just seen

Personally i think povetkin would be a more dangerous fight for haye styles wise. I'd much rather see him shut wlad up, then see the close up of vitali at ringside.

Yep Sauerland had options, hence the Sauerland logos on press conference back drops and their fight on the MEN card. Not sure whether they had options for 2 or 3 fights though. I think one reason Haye might not have wanted to fight the Klitschkos is so he was clear of the % they took

After such a tough fight, he's probably going to need some time off before facing off with another stiff mandatory in Chagaev. With any luck, he'll be able to round back in to shape by next Fall so that we can see the Chagaev fight around September/October.

Kalle Sauerland is talking up a fight with the Klitschkos, so they must be involved in his next fight as well.

Our old friend Lirva is over at ESB reckoning Haye should fight - and would most likely lose to Pacquiao because if Mock could hurt Haye several years ago then Pacquiao who hits harder than Mock would beat Haye.

Next up for British heavyweight sensation David Haye is said to be Ruslan Chagaev, the southpaw Uzbekistani who lives and fights out of Germany.
Haye picked off a statuesque Audley Harrison in three rounds in Manchester last weekend to draw closer to deciders with Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko for the mantle of best heavyweight on the planet. Indeed, Chagaev was stopped after nine rounds by Wladimir last year in front of a huge crowd in Germany, officially on cuts but Chagaev had been down. You can bet your life that Haye will want to keep Chagaev down, and to do the job quicker.
Nevertheless, Chagaev is a short, mobile heavyweight with a solid chin and decent boxing skills. He outboxed and outpointed Nikolai Valuev prior to Haye's own points win over the Russian giant, whom Haye wobbled in the last round. Chagaev also outpointed John Ruiz prior to Haye's nine-round stoppage of the Puerto Rican, whom Haye put down four times. Respectively, those fights tell you that Haye has a definite edge, but make no mistake about it, Chagaev is good enough to give Haye a long, hard night.

Man of many words, maybe you should change your name to 'final word'?

Did you want to expand on why?
