Quarter-Final 4 – Steve Bell v Gary Buckland =BUCKLAND

Quarter-Final 1 – Choi Tseveenpurev v Ben Murphy = CHOI
Quarter-Final 2 – Gary McArthur v Derry Matthews = McArthur
Quarter Final 3 – Gary Sykes v Scott Lawton = SYKES
Quarter-Final 4 – Steve Bell v Gary Buckland =BUCKLAND

Semi 1- CHOI V McArthur= Choi

Semi 2- SYKES V BUCKLAND = SYKES

Final--Sykes vs Choi =Sykes

I would not be shocked if Choi fights his age and loses in the first round though....

edit: I copied and pasted the OPs picks and forgot to change Matthews vs McArthur. I like Matthews, but I think his time has passed.

Quarter-Final 1 – Choi Tseveenpurev v Ben Murphy = Tseveenpurev
Quarter-Final 2 – Gary McArthur v Derry Matthews = McArthur
Quarter Final 3 – Gary Sykes v Scott Lawton = Sykes
Quarter-Final 4 – Steve Bell v Gary Buckland =Buckland

Semi 1 - Tseveenpurev V McArthur= McArthur
Semi 2 - Sykes V Buckland = Sykes

Final - Sykes vs McArthur =Sykes

I have backed McArthur in this (missed the 16's that was on offer but got 12's at Boylesports). He looked good in the lightweights prizefighter and was unlucky with the cut. He might be stepping down a weight but I assume that this will be slightly over the super-feather limit (does everyone know the contracted weight for this?) and Gary has been as low as 133lb according to boxrec.

Heart says McArthur (being a scot) but head says sykes.

Quarter-Final 1 – Choi Tseveenpurev v Ben Murphy = CHOI (points)
Quarter-Final 2 – Gary McArthur v Derry Matthews = this is almost a pick 'em fight, depends what Derry has left. I'll go MATTHEWS (split decision)
Quarter Final 3 – Gary Sykes v Scott Lawton = SYKES (KO)
Quarter-Final 4 – Steve Bell v Gary Buckland =BUCKLAND (points)

Semi 1- CHOI V DERRY = CHOI (KO)
Semi 2- SYKES V BUCKLAND = SYKES (split decision)

Final - Sykes Vs Choi. Whew. This could be a real barnburner, but I think I'll go for SYKES (points)

If Derry can hit his top form, he's in with a real shout here. Remember, he manhandled current european champion Foster Jnr and beat some good fighters before coming unstuck against Choi and Lindsay. But really this is a "pick'em" line up and one of the best line ups on paper in prizefighter history.

Choi is/was at least top of the tree domestically, Derry was at one time the no.1 British featherweight with wins over Foster Jnr, Simpson and Marsh. Sykes is the reigning british champion, Lawton and Buckland are former European title challengers. Make a big change from previous line up containing novices and could prove to be the best one yet!

I saw value in Derry @ 10-1 so went for him at the bookies for over 3 rounds its anyones game!

Choi either goes out in the first, or goes on to win it.

If it's the former, then Derry to Win.

McArthur v Sykes in the final, this format could really suit Choi but he's 39 and I fancy McArthur to outbox him in the semi.

Sykes hits quite hard despite having only four KO's and he's the most skiful fighter in the field, so class should prevail despite it only being 3x3.

yeah this is what i fear may happen to Choi too. To be fair in Murphy he's got a good oppo he can't complain. I was impressed by Murphy's work against Paul Holborn in Sunderland last year when he got royally shafted and given a draw after winning by about 4 rounds over 8.
Choi is very clever and should do him.
I'd like to think that Gary Sykes is in for a case of the Derry Matthews who was 20-0 when he met Choi.....Sykes is currently 16-0.
I'd like to see Choi win but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't.
It's a shame the Boxing mags haven't done anything on him recently as I've read 3 articles on Sykes in various places in as many months and sure enough he gets the 60 second piece in this week's BN. Nowt against the lad he sounds like a very decent fella...I have to say I wasn't massively impressed with him personally when he boxed on the same Sunderland bill as mentioned above.

Come on Choi lad bowl 'em over!!! :box: but I say that with my fingers crossed!
