THE wife of world boxing champ Joe Calzhage was yesterday nursing a broken finger - after tangling with her beefy husband.
Mandy, just eight stone, suffered a technical knockout in a freak accident during a night out with the world super-middleweight champion.
Mandy, 33, grabbed bruiser Joe to tug him into a taxi - but caught her finger in his jacket pocket.
She cried out in pain as she wrenched her middle finger in his black bomber jacket - and an X-ray showed she had broken the finger of her left hand.
Mother-of-three Mandy said, "The nurses in casualty asked me how I had done it.
"I jokingly said I had punched Joe - but all that happened was a bit of an accident on a night out in Cardiff."
Mandy yesterday had a splint on her finger after going to casualty at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.
She said, "We were with friends and had got into a taxi for the journey home. Joe was standing beside the cab and I just told him to get in and got hold of his coat.
"Unfortunately, I caught the inside of his pocket and my finger was wrenched."
Mandy, who lives with Joe at their luxury home in Cwmbran, said, "I didn't think anything about it but, when I woke up next day, it was painful and swollen.
"I couldn't believe that I had broken my finger over such a little thing."

Sounds like Joe's tight with his money, why else would he keep a mouse trap in his pocket?

She probably broke her finger repeatedly prodding over and over again...

She was certainly more of a test than Joe's mandatory challenger.

just thought it was a bit strange he was out on the town, i thought he was sick, sounded like a bad cold on the press release a few weeks ago,

Suggest both Adult Literacy and Racial stereo typing classes for you - I am sure they have them at your local whippet-breeding centre? Or what about the flat-cap factory? How about the pigeon-racing club?

You can go there after you are finished at the steel works or at the cutlery factory.

So is "red hot leak soup" a Welsh speciality then? Diverse bunch aren't ya.

The only context in which I use the word Leak is to "take one" - but if you ENGLISH folk make soup out of it then that's your own problem.

Hey don't knock soup, there's nowt wrong with a bit of pea & lentil on these cold nights brrrrr.

True words, i am on night shift at the moment and nothing keeps one warmer than a Heinz Big Soup

Doh Kilburn! Just as things were getting interesting. I am interested also to hear how Joe's cold is coming along, as a previous poster mentioned he is quick enough galavanting around with the wife just days after he pulled out.

She was probably trying to get a fiver out of Joe's pocket!
