i think green has the tools to take anybody in the cruiserweight division, but he was VERY cautious against flores who is not really known as a big hitter. Does green doubt his own chin at CW or was it just because this is realy the first cruiser he has fought and just wanted to play it safe? because if he fights cunningham he wont get away with the same style that he won with last night as cunningham can brawl or box too.
cant wait to find out who its going to be

Can he move up to heavy and fight the current Aussie heavy champ? Who is it?
Or maybe a match against James Toney?

i personally think he walks through Huck. but good luck getting that guy out of germany. and we all know danny most likely wont go back there. cunningham would be a great fight as long as danny went for it. i would like to see him get the polish bloke out here, as hyder as already mentioned as a possible target. as long as he doesnt go backwards from this ill be happy.

Danny made mention of trying to get one of the other champs and even mentioned he would travel.
I thought Green fought a very smart fight. Whilst flores is not known as a puncher, when Danny was hit he took the punches pretty well, and countered well. I hope he gets Cunningham out here, that would be great for Danny and Aussie boxing. well done gReeny, no dioubt your critics are finding it difficult to criticise last nights fight and your performance.

it looks like cameron is inching closer to fighting green i dont know how likely it is to be in nz though sounds a bit odd to me. i wont pay to watch green blast cameron out in 3. but i would go to the pub to see it fpr sure.
i guess it wouldnt hurt greeny to have another fight with a big guy before going for another fight with a top guy. a fight in febuary would give green some time to put on those last few kilos to get closer to the cruiser limit. if there was then a flores rematch it would be a different fight altogether i think.

I really hope Greeny doesnt fight Cameron. Cameron has shown nothing to suggest this fight would be remotely competitive. Green would take him out early and all that pressure that was on him before the Flores fight, to "pick a real opponent" would be back. Have a bit of a rest and then go for the big names I say. I dont think he has many fights left and one against Cameron would be a waste of time.

I reckon its now more likely that Cameron will fight Flores.
It probably means that Green will also fight someone below championship status, but it still has the makings of a good card.

I Think your onto something here Marlin, there could be a signed contract already in place for Green v Cameron, obviously with conditions, as we are witnessing. I don't think he gets thru Vea either, he's a sure win for Danny, i don't know why Barry is wasting his time and credability.

I hope Green doesnt fight Cameron, if he does he is going backwards, Green will destroy him, Green prob has only 2-3 max big fights left, so he needs to go out in style, hopefully a unification bout, although they are different div would of loved Kessler V Green..

yeah that's the sort of competition Green should take on... no real point in taking on anymore Australasian recycled material.... he is way better than that.... or don't bother with any belt or belts, fight Adamek... big $$$ and true profile fight on a global scale.

No-one walks through Huck (not even Victor Emilio Ramirez!). The only way for Green to beat Huck would be to outbox him. To trade with him would be suicide.
Lebedev will probably outbox Huck in their fight. At least, I hope he will.

Only saw the highlights but green looked fit at nearly 14 stone. I do not think he need fear any of the top cruiserweights, let's see who is prepared to fight.

I Think lebedev will become a champion at years end, so maybe an eliminator with Huck, for a shot at Lebedev is another option.
As said in the past, i think the Polish bloke Krzysztof Wlodarczyk would be a good fight here, and it's a unification.
Some other possibility's before another warm up or 2 before Cunningham.
Wayne Braithwaite
Ola Afolabi
Brian Minto
Giacobbe Fragomeni
Hugo Hernan Garay

Sorry guys,
What is this 'unification' people keep going on about on here. To my knowledge Danny does not hold a world championship belt yet. Or is there news that WBC/WBA/WBOllox/IBF will give him an interim belt, because I have'nt heard about this yet.

He is IBO Cruiserweight champion. If Wlad Klitschko thinks it is good enough to hold the IBO Heavyweight title amongst others, what is your problem? Oh, that's right. You are a Choom.

I see the Cruiserweight division as a bit of a wasteland, and the fact that Danny paid Flores to come in at less than 200lbs suggests Danny knows he will never be able to challange the elite in this division at 200lbs. I would like to see Green go back down to Light Heavyweight with a plan to arrange a bout with one of the top 5 rated fighters in that division, obviously that would not happen overnight and the fact that Green makes enough money boxing in Australia (ie he is unlikely to travel) also makes such matches difficult to organize. Here is a list of prospective opponents at LHW.
Hopkins - obviously this may not be possible due to contractual difficulties and Hopkins style would make for a boring fight anyway
Pascal - fighting Hopkins on Dec 18, maybe an option if he wins that
Chad Dawson - may be interested now he has a loss on his record
Tavoris Cloud - I haven't seen much of him, but unbeaten and would be a big challenge for Danny
Nathan Cleverly - Still relatively young and inexperienced, Danny may be able to outsmart him at this stage in his career, his promoter likes to do things on his own terms.
Would be great to see one of those fights happen, however I seriously doubt we will see it!

200 pounds is cruiserweight limit. It was originally 190 pounds. As for being a wasteland it was introduced because heavyweights were getting huge and it was decided to have a division for men too heavy for light heavyweight but too small for heavyweight. None of the light heavyweights want to know about Green after he cleaned Jones up in a round.
Do you think Flores should have been allowed to come in over the limit? The only wasteland here is between your ears.

I am aware that the Cruiserweight limit is 200lbs, my point is that Danny is not naturally a Cruiserweight and when you get to fighting the elite fighters at the top of a division then giving away size and power becomes more of an issue. We all know that Danny's IBO Cruiserweight title is a bit of a joke as his five fights for the title have all been made at catchweights less than 200lbs. I understand Flores had the choice of coming in at 200lbs but decided to take the cash on offer to come in at a lesser weight, it seemed strange he was willing to give away this advantage and thus lessen his chances, I am obviously not aware how much he was paid to come in under the limit.
I just feel that if you look at both the Cruiserweight and LHW divisions, there are so many more interesting fights for Danny at LHW. Now maybe he doesn't want to fight at 175lbs any more given that he came in at 195 for Flores, but if the money and opponent were right then I expect he would.

What cash offer to come in at a lighter weight? Flores has fought below 200 pounds before, it was a title fight, Green is a solidly man 6'1" tall. He fought as a light heavyweight at the Olympics, but that was ten years ago. I have heard no evidence of Flores having to make any weight other than the weight limit, only scuttlebutt.

If you saw the vision of the weigh in you would have noticed that even though he came in at nearly 5lbs under the 200lb limit, Flores chose to strip off completely, the reason for this was obviously that he was trying to get under a certain pre-agreed weight and thus triggering financial incentives.

Danny cleaned up a shot Roy Jones. Everyone knows it, that's why nobody outside Australia rated the win as having any merit
