After last night cracking show. What weight should the next one be at?

I don't mind what weight but bring in some Aussies and make it for 'The boxing ashes'

I was talking about something similar with a friend a while back about doing a britain vs world one or something.

wouldnt be to hard to set up i imagine, 2 brits, couple of americans, europeans, mexicans? would be interesting definately and should provide a different sort of spectacle.

Oscar De La Hoya did a 'Mexico vs Philippines' show - and it did very well by all accounts. I am suprised an astute guy like Barry Hearn hasn't done it up till now.

The combinations between UK vs are endless...

What is certain is that the pool of fighters in the UK is only so deep - the prizefighter format needs changing...

I was there last night, good fights. Like to see around welterweight next time mate.

Not heavyweight.

I thought they should of done a world cup one! They say it's made for Heavy's but the best two have been SBW and SFW, I wouldn't mind seeing a Flyweight one

More of our prospects could do with being exposed to the tricky styles from overseas. bring the foreign fighters over, be it for Prizefighter or for 8/10 rounders

heavy of crusier need international fighters in it now. It hard to say what weight could be next !

im a big fan of the draw & match up's but 3rd's over one night i dont like it would be good too see it staged over 5rd's & have a month of it.

They should make it exhibitions IMO. It would get bigger names in who don't want to risk their records! Plus it's more of an event than a fight!

As evidenced once again last Saturday, Prizefighter clearly works best with the lighter weight divisions.
They should stick to that and it would be cool if they could bring in a few foreign fighters as well.

If they do heavyweights again I for one will not be watching.

I take the points above re not wanting to see heavyweights again but surely that's as much down to the poor quality of contestants in recent times. If we could attract more of the decent up and comers like Dallas, Price, Olubamiwo etc there's still scope for a heavyweight Prizefighter. It's just a shame there are so many prospects/promoters not willing to risk their '0'.

Bring in Leapai, Cronje, Meehan and De Mori (although he seems to have disappeared - any ideas??), and you could have and amazing 'Ashes' heavyweight line up. Probably never happen as you'd probably need to up the prize money to attract these names but it'd make for a cracking night of boxing.

I don't think it matters on the weight class it's just down to the quality of boxers. Saturday's prizefighter was great entertainment because most fights can or have headlined their own show and most are still pretty hungry for big fights where as some of the worst prizefighter's have had too much focus on has beens or novices plus some weight divisions are far poorer than others.

Yep, good point. Hopefully Saturday will be some kind of watershed where it becomes clear that a loss doesn't mean the end. Derry Matthews has clearly risen his stock even though he lost (after 2 good wins) and it made a further match with Choi even more intriguing. Buckland has obviously come out of it extremely well but the one supposed 'loser' from it all would be seen to be Sykes, however he's got to take heart in that he didn't exactly fight as he may have in a 12 rounder and it sets up a cracking match with Buckland for the title now if that comes off.

Even the likes of McArthur hasn't lost much out of giving it a go, if anything it just prove that he can't get down to 9 st 6 without killing his resistance. He can come back up at Light, even Light welter and move on. Same with Choi, not the end of the world especially if a Matthews rematch comes off.

All in all it has set up all manner of intriguing rematches and further contest without taking too much out of them all long term or in terms of marketability.

Cracking fights all round.

The SF's were the best Prizefighter so far IMO, enjoyable night despite losing money on Sykes

YEa by far the best one so far

Would like a Welter one next theres good divison there if can get the names in like
