According to RealBoxing.com, Audley Harrison will fight veteran Brian Nix when he makes his final ring appearance of 2003 at the Edgewater Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, on December 12. Originally, Harrison was due to fight at the Cobo Hall in Detroit, but the whole ESPN2 show has been moved to the new venue.
Nix is a real gift for Audley.

Well Audley did say this was going to be a christmas present to himself.
His christmas list must probably read:

1/ BUM
2/ CAB DRIVER
3/ CRUISERWEIGHT

yawn, change the record will you guys? brian nix is tough, went 7 with golota, beat a few aged but big name vets, only 2 fights ago beat tim witherspoon.

this guy can take a punch and fight back okay so just give it a rest, pleeeease!

Overhand - not trying to be provacative but do you really think Nix is a decent opponent - I have had the misfortune of watching his fight with Golota and he was terrible.

He won't last more than 2 rounds.

Well said, Overhand. Brian Nix is fairly durable and an experienced fighter. He's been in with decent boxers and is seen as a decent trial horse and I, for one, have no complaints about him as an opponent.

He was good enough for Golota's comeback and he's good enough for Harrison.

Until Audley fights a good, dangerous or live opponent those who disapprove will always blindly criticise him. But then again so will his fans find a way to justify his actions. There seems to be no middle ground with peoples take on Harrison.

I have a question. What has Harrison learned by going to America? He sure won't have learnt anything from the opponents he's faced in the ring.

The BBC , allegedly Henry Cooper, and basically every British heavyweight has no respect for him at this stage. If he cannot get respect from his peers in this sport then he ain't getting it from me.

Agreed. Step up but not the big step up some were expecting.

He'll fight Sprott in 2004 I reckon, though not Williams as he claims.

Nix is better then any of the oponents, other British prospects have been fighting of late. Nix is another fight to keep Harrison active whilst in America as this fight is also not part of his three fight ESPN deal. I always understood one of the main reasons for him going over to America was for sparring opportunities, I could be wrong.

Happy to hear he won't be facing Francis so its more likely that he will be fighting Skelton or Sprott.

perhaps sparring with american heavies mate? any intelligent boxing fans knows its far more beneficial than sparring with fellas like sprott and julius.

Sheer Arrogance...coming from a man who will tell the world Tim witherspoon could have been the greatest of all time...what cheek to tell others they have no knowledge of the game!!

biff was so intent on slagging audley off that he was using guys with blatant agendas such as allegedly to back him up, and dreaming up stories about the bbc hating him. very poor.

the tim witherspoon remarks were tongue in cheek, genius.

I understand that the fight against Diaz as well as the one with Nix are not part of his three fight ESPN deal. Both were arranged with different promoters in order to keep him active. I think he mentioned something about getting to know more promoters over in America as well obviously now that hes a promoter himself.

Audley called out Skelton on his official website though you normally can't look too much into these call outs. I still think Audley would be prepared to fight Skelton at some stage next year especially if Skelton beats Francis.
