Where is this fight going to take place?
Froch confirmed in an interview this morning that it will happen in March or April.

In The Sun (I know) it is reported that it will take place in the US in March.

There is talk of a double -header of Froch-Johnson and Ward-Abrahams

in Vegas??
Anyone know what is happening?

Ward shouldn't be fighting in the US again IMO. I would like to see them on the same bill though, maybe Germany? Tough fight for Carl, Johnson is a real warrior I don't think this is going to be quite as easy as people think!

I think Showtime's original contract stated both semi-finals would be in America. Obviously things have changed a lot since Showtime launched the Super 6. Froch-Johnson would make much more sense over here, from a fans point of view.

yeah I heard it would be a doubleheader. Makes sense to have it over there, providing it's in Vegas or New York, not Oakland.

I can actually see both fights on a big Vegas show in a double header. There are two American fighters in the semis and it is Showtime's event - so it is their call and that would seem to make sense. I just hope that they confirm it asap so that anyone that intends to go can get their flights booked. The flights to Vegas in March are cheap:
Flights - Manchester-Vegas 2 March - 6th March £225

Unfortunately Johnson cannot sell-out a toilet and Wards gets a nosebleed is he leaves Oakland, so don't count on that happening!
It will either be March 12 or 19th because I'm on holiday then and God doesn't like me.

I hope they confirm this soon - I am busting to get a Froch fight and if it is in Vegas in March, flights are £200 from London or £225 from Manchester - which is a steal!
Froch said on BBC today that he has a meeting this week with a major broadcaster (must be Sky, surely).

Would be great if the BBC get in on his last couple fights..
The Johnson fight should be somewhere what we expected the Aabraham fight to be. Johnson quite impressed me against Green. Froch wins a hard decision though.

If Froch uses the same tactics as Dawson did in his 2nd fight with Johnson I don't think it will be that close. Froch has dusted the cobwebs off his boxing skills and should continue to use them. Johnson likes guys that come at him and not hit and move. If he does this, I see an 8-4 sort of score, even in the US.

he pressured Green pretty good last time - and lets not get too carried away with Frochs new boxing ability. Abraham kinda helped that illusion greatly I think ..

Johnson's a tough guy no doubt, but I also think Green helped Johnson look good, making so many amateurish mistakes. And Green was ahead on 2 of the scorecards at the time of the stoppage. If you fight the right fight against Johnson he's beatable. Tarver did the same thing to Johnson in their rematch too - outboxed him on the outside so he couldn't get his shots off. And let's be fair Johnson lost some of his fights fair and square, not all of them were the robberies he likes to claim. Plus, I wouldn't say Froch's boxing ability is new, you don't win a world amatuer medal without boxing skills, it's just he went back to basics instead of having his usual tear up.

Where ever this happens this is going to be a cracking fight. Styles makes fights and these styles will make for a belter

The obvious counter to your
you don't win a world amatuer medal without boxing skills
would be to bring up old Audley .. but thats picking hairs ... we all know the amateur and pro game are so vastly different nowadays.
I do however agree that Johnson is very beatable. I have never said Froch wouldn`t beat him.
I just look to the Woods fights with him ... Froch is a a better fighter again in my eyes ..
But just as you say Green made Johnson look good, I happen to think Abraham made Froch look better than he really is. Just take a look at all - every single fight - that Froch has had at top level.
Very hard work against Pascal, losing the fight up till 14 seconds from the end with Taylor and a clear loss to Kessler ...
and the Dirrel fight also.

don't think anyone disputes the fact he has skills....he just hasn't got a heart....not something you can accuse froch of.

True, but with the exception of Kessler he won them all. Finding a way to win in advesre circumstances is a good skill to have. I think Froch beats Johnson and loses to Ward in the final to be honest. I 'd love to be wrong, but Ward is just better imo.

Yes. But you could say he was very very lucky in both the Taylor and Dirrel fights .. if the Dirrel fight had been anywhere else, it would most probably have been another loss.
I too think he beats old man Johnson, and loses to Ward.

And Johnson being the way he is and has been throughout his career would likely fight someone in the middle of a minefield if it meant him getting a fight.

I can see this being a big, 2 location double header.
UK Leg @ MEN
Carl Froch v Glen Johnson
Matthew Hatton v Junior Witter
Beibut Shumenov v Nathan Cleverly
Darren Barker, Tyson Fury
US Leg @ Anywhere but Oakland
Andre Ward v Arthur Abraham
Chris Arreola v Eddie Chambers
Some other Goosen prospects
Depending on the dates, combine it with Vitali v Solis/Austin from Germany and you have a PPV worthy night (comparable with 11th Dec).
A pipe dream I know! But all the fights are realistic within a timeframe of March/April - why not put them altogether for a big night?

Can't see Hatton v Witter happening but you never say never, no chance of Cleverly fighting on a Hennessy card though.

After purse bids against a Hennessy boxer. No way is Clev boxing on that fantasy show.Neither will it take place in Manchester or M.Hatton will face Witter!

Let's not forget that after engaging in a war for six rounds with Pascal and working out he couldn't just blast him out of there, when Carl started using the jab properly and boxed he controlled the fight comfortably against a current world light-heavyweight champ.
Having said that, I agree with your conclusion with regards to beating Johnson but losing to Ward.
