It's absolutely incredible that these 'promoters' don't let us know that they have a show on.

While we're at it, Joe Murray stopped his Italian opponent in 2 rounds at Bolton on Friday, which hasn't been updated yet

I think it was in a tent, must have been freezing. Used to play football there when I was a nipper.

The Mayfair show was Robert Waterman show too I think, but it was a charity show, so I suppose the budget is tight for advertising as they want to give as much of the revenue as poss to the charity.

Went to one of his charity shows earlier this year and for a dinner show it was a good nights boxing. There was an african kid on the show who I think was with Jim Evans. He looked a real prospect. Great poise and only 18 I think. Cant remember his name.

Phil how do these shows work? You know I met you and bought tickets off you for steve Goodwins sept 11 show, but it would be impossible for this promotion, I've recently been in aussie and tried to buy a ticket for a show in Brisbane 26 Nov. Fortitude Valley it was a 'dinner show' A$130 (80 quid) when I told them, two weeks in advance that i'd like to just come and watch boxing but wouldn't require much drink or food - England were at the Gabba and I'd simply just like to watch some proffesional boxing and offered 60 bucks they told me it wasn't the right show for me. How could it not be? All I wanted was to watch some pro boxing. On a personal note I like your come forward all action style, and good luck on sat.

Hi guys, the reason we don't broadcast the Mayfair Sporting Club events in the general press is because we don't sell many to the typical boxing fans and do not want people turning up on the night who haven't already bought a ticket. In any case, I'm a boxing fan too and from that perspective I would normally rather buy a £35 ticket to see a 10 bout card with a Brit/Comm/European title top of the bill than watch 3/4 fights for £145+VAT. Our events are sold more as a different night out, often to people who have never been to see live boxing before. That said, we do try to put on decent competitive fights that produce some good tear ups.

For the record, our next show is on December 14th at The Savoy. The bill at this moment in time is Tony Owen v Johnny Greaves, Mark McKray v Ideh Ocuko & Bheki Moyo v Gavin Putney. What we aim to put together are cards that have a mixture of prospects (like Tony Owen) and competitive fights (like McKcray v Ockuko or Moyo v Putney) which even the first time boxing fan can enjoy.

With regard to the results, they are always published in Boxing News and so I've always assumed the boxrec editors would pick them up from there.
The credit crunch took the wind out of our sales for a while but the last couple have picked up a bit so we'll be doing more in the future.

Boxing news is the bible of british boxing and I always can't wait to buy my copy and read it from cover to cover but when your away from Britain alot boxrec is a very close second for results, gossip and information - It sounds like i'm sucking up but because I love boxing I need this website. Would be nice if you (and other promoters) could just send a simple e-mail with results. P.S Dinner shows are wrong.
