It's great that Sky are finally paying attention to Froch. He's our #1 fighter, after all.
Now all we need is for them to stop doing deals with promoters. Force them to work together and bid for TV dates..... send out a list every six months of the fights they want to see and make them happen.
Less of this ''let's wait until it's worth millions and they both hold world titles'' crap. It's just an excuse to make money without facing good fighters half the time.

Promotors have another year half on there deals. Adam Smith did say in boxing monthly that wants promotors to make fights!

Shame on them, the presenters are fine but the puppetmasters are 100% scum..pure sub-human scum.
The Froch situation is the worst that I can think of when it comes to the decline of this sport.
Nice of Sky to help put the nails in.

"Irrational" based on what? Sky have been reaming the arse out of us for years, it's not my fault if you don't have the brains to see it.
"agenda"? mate I know no one in boxing, I'm a 100% fan, baby..nothing else, ask around.
PS Please don't post if all you want to do is just fire cheap shots, it just looks bad for you.

Excellent stuff, am really enjoying the Ringside show, I work nights at the moment so get home around 4/5am, can't wait to get home tomorrow morning, crack open a beer and watch this.

On a complete sidenote - my missus absolutely loves your show Buncey, she listens to it on her phone when on her wayy home from the gym.

It's good because it used to drive me mad when the muppets at Sky would refuse to mention fighters not on their network. Like when Joe or Eubank would knockover some WBO deadbeat on the same night as Roy Jones, who'd get no mention at all.
Or never refering to Hop/Trinidad, because they didn't show it....
Hopefully Adam Smith, who seems a real fan, will pull some strings and sort that out. It's madness not to.
Better late than never with Carl. Now they just have to SIGN him.
Pity it's Johnson he's got, as he deservers a bigger fight now, a money earning mega fight v Ward. Or the Canadian champ maybe, Bute? He'd blast him out, and could do it in front of a huge Canadian crowd too.
How about throw some big cash at a bored Joe Calzaghe, who's got very little wear and tear on him, and I'm sure would be sorely tempted.

I imagine it would disappear for a short time before reappearing on terrestrial, free-to-air channels.
The main reason it disappeared from terrestrial channels is this:
Sky would sit back and watch the BBC and ITV doing all the donkey work of building up a fighter's profile - eg Eubank and Calzaghe. When it was clear that they were major attractions, Sky would then poach the star fighter in the belief that their addicted fans would be poached with them and cough up the subsciption charges. Before long, the BBC and ITV got sick of getting their fingers burnt, building up a product just so Sky could reap all the benefits of the investment, and pretty much pulled out of the sport altogether.
It's a bit like going through all the foreplay with a woman only to see a flash mate step in and get the shag. Irritating.

He came across really well and really does seem to know his stuff. I never really have an issue of what he's said in the past or maybe in the future about fighters he seems to be able to back it up and admits if a fighter has gone up in his estimation.
On the subject of Sky I think they generally do a good job and it seems to be doing better now Smith is in charge, they didn't really shy away too much from people critisising the Haye shambles and having Froch on ringside is a good touch. I very much doubt though that Sky will be able to show Froch until after the super 6 because I'm sure Primetime signed the deal to show all the Froch super 6 fights but hey I might be wrong.

There is no deal with Primetime.
I can assure you of that. And Sky have done a lot of fights in conjuction with Showtime, so they have a strong relationship.
Hatton vs Tszyu was a showtime fight for example.

Like I said I might be wrong but I just thought I remembered seeing or hearing that on a show that they done on the super 6 before it started. I think back then it was more about which promoters had signed up to Sky rather than what other tv channel was showing the fight.
