Bollocks!

I've just gone and placed a treble on Burns, Appleby and Antillion to win tonight.
Spent long and hard debating Antillion's chances and eventually thought feck it, Soto looks to be on the decline to me and Antillion's a little underrated after the Acosta loss so I went ahead and placed a small bet.
Thing is, I didn't even bother checking up on Burns and Appleby's opponents as the odds were so one-sided, I just assumed they were pretty much dead certs.
I've since done a bit of checking up on Evenson and lo and behold he actually looks like a real handful.
I've pretty much written this bet off now. Hope Burns can pull it off, but after seeing a bit of Evenson I've just shit the bed.

It was just a small bet because the Soto/Antillion fight has a decent chance of backfiring on me, it's more a case just being pissed off at myself for not being thorough as far as checking up on who I'm betting on goes.
I like Burns, nice kid, comes across well and showed real grit and focus against Martinez. The thing is though, Martinez is a bit of a plodder whereas Evenson looks to have a bit more savvy to go with his power. Didn't like what I saw at all.
In fact I might just stick a bit on Evenson to cover myself. At 7/1, if I bet half the money I stand to win on the treble, on Evenson pulling the upset, I'll make more than treble what I would've made had it come off.
Sorted.

I wouldn't be too worried about Burns ruining your treble. Evensen has been on a nice little run of stoppages, but with only 5 KO's in his 13 fights, and taking his calibre of opposition into consideration I don't think I would class Evensen as someone with "power"
I could be wrong but I would be far more concerned about the Soto/Antillion fight.

Bit of savvy to go with his power?? Evenson has five stoppage wins...
Burns should win this fairly easy id have thought

I agree with GAV. I mean, Soto's a halfwit plodder but Antillon's the same, only more so.
I know Soto doesn't have much about him, but from the half-dozen times I've seen Antillon, unless he can reach down & drag something out of the depths, the title's going back to Mexico.

You could well be right about Soto/Antillion, but I remember Valero being lined up for Soto so I decided to have a goosey at a few of his fights and he appears to be dropping off to me, doesn't quite have that unbreakable look about him of late. Plus Antillion fought the wrong fight against Acosta, probably took him a bit too lightly to boot. I don't think we've seen the best of Antillion yet, although it was a bad loss and you're right, it's a risky call, could go either way.

He looked like he had quite a bit of spite in his punches from what I saw, he also threw a few very well placed, fast punches from slightly awkward and unexpected angles. Nothing exceptional but enough to make me think he'll likely be able to put some leather on Burns, whether or not that'll be enough who knows.
I guess what I saw of him just spooked me. I'd like to see Burns win though, especially now that I'm covered either way ;)

Soto's no half-wit plodder, are you serious?

I watched a good bit of Evensen aswell and from what I seen he is a very small Super Featherweight who comes forward in straight lines. If Burns keeps his distance and consistently uses his jab I can see him wearing Evensen down and eventually stopping him in the championship rounds.

Starting to chill about the Burns fight, the stuff I saw of Evenson was more than likely against no marks. Still, he didn't look like a pushover, should be a good fight.

Seems like a fairly plausible outlook. If I wasn't betting on it I'd probably be a bit more rational about it.
He just didn't look like the type of fighter that you get those kind of odds with. I was expecting to see a total scrub when I started checking his fights out, not the case though.

This is also Evensen's first fight at SFW and it's against someone who is huge at the weight.
10th round stoppage for Burns.

I have got money on Burns by stoppage and I'm pretty confident.

That's boxing mate.
I read some people lump on £1000.00 to make just £40 on these African visitors.
But lately some of them have been tough bastids.

No great loss, I kept it low on the back of Antillion/Soto... just a bit of spice.
Feel a little bad for Appleby if anything, what a handful that character was.
