Worst Decision you've seen.

I know there's probably already a thread on this but I was just curious if anyone has seen one worse than Ramirez-Whitaker 1?

Doesn't get talked about nearly enough, that one. Absolute shocker.
Suliaman is garbage.

It doesn't get any worse than that.
Spinks/Burnett was brutal.
Everett/Escalera
The decision wasn't quite as bad, but one judge gave Lockridge 1 round in the first Pedroza fight.

Whitaker is probably the #1 victim in history on this issue. Though that is the worst one concerning him, you can find many others. The Chavez fight certainly had more on the line thus a bigger consequence. How Chavez walked away from that with any pride left is beyond me.
It's like the judges penalized him for making a fool out of his opponents. And the way they do it is by judging him unfairly round by round.
Maybe it's because they have a soft spot for people being clowned. But if they were being clowned via a heavy clubbing, that does not seem to get the same sort of discriminatory responses. So to clown your opponent "A" via speed, accuracy, flexibility and agility = harsh judgment, vs "B" clowning via clubbing, thumping, mugging and pounding = kudos.
I've never understood this, other than to say that the judges are often simpletons who can't really process what they see in category "A" as described above.
I've always been more impressed with the fast thinkers, fast movers, agility and cleverness vs the natural "Hulk" approach. But you have to score them evenly and show no bias when judging. For me it's often a question of "who would you rather be"? at fights end. And the man who imposed more punishment on the other should generally walk away the winner IMHO.

Agree with that on my scorecard Ehitaker only ever lost 1 fight (Trinadad), I never seen his last fight, I think he beat De La Hoya and Ramirez and Chavez. The only close decision he got was Rivera and I thought he won that anyway

That was bad too, but not quite on this level. Toney/Tiberi was.

Did anyone else think that Chacon - Boza-Edwards II was a really poor decision especially the 117-111 card? I remember watching the fight a few years ago and felt Boza got jobbed on the cards. Now, I could have been hindered by the fact that I was a big admirer of the Ugandan but I had him a few rounds ahead at the end.

Whitaker's only losses, to me, were De La Hoya (1 point), Trinidad, & Bojorquez. He drew with Rivera on my card, & obviously beat Ramirez twice, not once. Throw away his ridiculous draw with Chavez, too. He could very well have been given the decision against De La Hoya, but I'm over hearing he was robbed there. Very close fight, no man won it to the point of having it stolen from them, & that's not upto debate with me.
His only decisive defeats came against Trinidad & Bojorquez. Pretty great career.

Ocasio over Qawi was a horrible decision. Snipes over Coetzee was another disgrace. I had it 7-3 for Coetzee, who also scored a pair of knockdowns.

You are correct about the Chacon v Boza-Edwards 2 fight.
It was a terrible decision, Boza won by a wide margin.

It's a lower level fight so often doesn't get paid as much attention but Augustus vs Courtney Burton 1 was absolute garbage. Augustus won that fight undoubtedly and was jobbed by the ref and the judges.
I thought Toney vs Tiberi was a close fight, I think a lot of people give the fight to Tiberi because he had no business looking that good against James Toney. I could see it going to Tiberi but Toney winning a close decision is also understandable in my opinion, in any case they should've had a rematch just to squash the issue.

Chris Eubank vs Ray Close... I had Close winning 7 rounds. :)

I have read Duva saying they suspected the worst (Whittaker-Ramirez I) because they turned down a fight with Chavez earlier that year much to Mr King's annoyance.

Snipes-Coatzee wasn't a robbery at all, b/c that fight was scored strictly on a round's basis ie no extra credit for knockdowns. People remember the early KDs but Coatzee tired badly and Snipes sweeped the last half of the fight.
Toney-Tiberi was bad but far from the worst I've ever seen. There were several close rounds which a judge could've rationally given to the heavier/sharper puncher (Toney) rather than the guy working his tail off (Tiberi).
Whitaker-Ramirez, LeDoux-Boudreaux and Augustus-Burton are probably the worst decisions I've seen in my lifetime but I know I'm forgetting a few. Many of the very worst decisions are more low-profile fights and not the big ticket items everyone talks about and remembers. I've seen several lesser known fights when the guy that won it didn't win a round.

Some of the decisions that Glen Johnson has been on the wrong end of are scandalous.

Here are some more not mentioned yet that I consider a robbery:
Recently Jones vs Karass (I had Karass winning comfortably that fight)
Byrd vs Oquendo was a robbery for me.
Joel Casamayor vs Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz won that fight by a considerable margin.
To lesser extent:
De La Hoya vs Sturm (Sturm won that fight)
De La Hoya vs Mosley II (DLH won that fight)

Everatt-Escalera was a strange one because I had Everatt up quite wide and looking at my scorecard you would of thought it was a terrible decision, but every round was close and competitive I would say it was a bad decision but I wouldn't really call it a robbery

If that wasn't a robbery, there has never been one.
I forgot to mention Greg Page/George Chaplin x2. They were hideous.

Agreed. Another fight along those lines was Matt Vanda-Sam Garr. Horrible decision. It was the first robbery I witnessed, as I had just started following boxing around that time. The number of robberies that have taken place on ESPN are innumerable. Many of them don't get remembered because they usually aren't between top guys.

Funny that you and deno1986 mentioned this one. I have brought this fight up before and it always seems that I was the only one who saw it. I thought it was a close fight that could have gone either way. I have not seen it since it happened. Very hard to score. There was a lot of action in almost every round.
If I remember correctly, what hurt Boza-Edwards was that he had two very good rounds and then was knocked down at the very end of those rounds. So instead of winning the round 10-9, he loses them 10-8. That is a 3 point swing in two rounds.
If Boza-Edwards wins that fight he may be in the Hall of Fame instead of Chacon.

Genaro Rios vs Wilfredo Vazquez
I love old Freddy Vazquez, but you'd have to be a close family member to give him more than two rounds in that fight.
