i think khan vs maidana 2 make sense - why???

with the performance that khan put on last night , he is big business. Maidana also will get more big fights as he also put on a great performance.
Khan before last night was being groomed to be a big star by HBO but his paycheck ($975k) and the crowd at vegas (around 4600) show that he hasnt hit the real big time yet.
if the boxing world , general fight fans and sports fans know that he is fighting maidana again then i think he gets a much bigger crowd , much more money , much more exposure both here and in the states.
yes its a very risky fight but if amir wins then he has fast tracked himself to be a major HBO star in the US and to general sports fans. His 2 fights in the US has had quite small crowds , when fighting malignaggi in NY the fight took place in the smaller arena in maddison square garden.
can you imagine what the crowd will be if he and maidana fight again??
i personally think the fight becomes a sell-out whether it takes place in NY or vegas , thats what last night fight did for amir and maidana.
there is no pint in the fight taking place in the uk as we already know khan can fill areans and its better for him on a worldwide scale to fight on a US timescale.
thoughts???

I don`t think Khan would fancy fighting Maidana again, by the sounds of things he was in a real war (still haven`t seen it yet)
I would go for a fight in the uk, against Kell Brook at Welterweight and then back down to fight JMM in the states at light welter.
WIn both of them and then try for a Mayweather fight late next year.

Khan wins a wide UD if they fight again. He knows he can take Maidana's punches, but will fight more smartly. He won the first 9 rounds and lost the last 3. The scorecards were closer than the fight was imo.
When they spoke about rematch after the fight Maidana didn't actually seem too keen. Obvioulsy a tough fight for both of them.

I thought Khan lost the third, the sixth or the seventh (I can't remember which) the tenth, the eleventh and the twelfth. That would make it 115-113, minus the two points for the KD and the elbow, would be 115-111. I think it's also possible that the tenth be scored a ten eight in favour of Maidana, to be honest, so that would be 114-111.
The scoring was fair.

yeah khan won the fight
but i think a khan-maidana fight will be massive in the states
when gatti fought ward everybody knew it would be a decent fight.....but when it had finished everybody wanted a rematch eg: HBO , the fans , the fighters
just think it would be huge exposure as khan vs alexander or bradley wont draw as big of a crowd.
khan vs maidana does

Moving up to Welterweight to fight Brook seems like an odd idea. What would be the point? It would be a waste of time.

How can you possibly know that? Your just guessing. Given that it would be the deciding fight in the division I'm sure it will draw just as many if not more.
mate im going with the attendance of the fight in vegas there and vs malignaggi , i hope khan fights the winner of those 2 but i also think that the hard core fans especially in the states would like to see a rematch.
i think they would turn out more for the rematch - just my personal opinion

I think you're right about the rematch, it would be huge over there and could be just what he needs to make a name for himself.
Can't see Khan v Alexander/Bradley being as big but Khan's performance on saturday will have increased the interest in it. If he is to fight back in the UK then hopefully he won't be taking on a patsie before going for another 'live' opponent in the states

I think it was all about survival for Khan towards the end of the fight. Many British refs would have stopped the fight when Khan was getting a battering. Khan had outworked Madaina in the early rounds and built up a points lead so as long as he stayed in the fight he had it won. A rematch would be dangerous for Khan.

Alexander hardly packed out his last fight, and he was in his hometown with another hometown fighter on the undercard.

I think if Alexander beats Bradley they may just look to Maidana again, Devon's fast aggressive, accurate combinations would really trouble Khan. Alexander is a better fighter than the Kotelnik fight showed, his aggression and punch picking I think would beat Khan on a tough gruelling points verdict. I can't decide on a fight with Bradley, Bradley is so adaptable I think he could figure out a way to beat him but I think Khan's speed and boxing ability would maybe get him through, it would be a tough fight to call and a really good fight

If as seems to be the case Bradley/Alexander has a rematch clause then Khan deserves an easy voluntary after that war, while he waits for the winner. Judah seems to be a name being mentioned and i think Khan is far too big and fast for him, while it could be exciting for 3-4 rounds..

In a perfect world Khan fights the winner of Bradley-Alexander next so there is a unification. What's the date of that anybody? I think I read sometime in January? In the meantime, either Khan takes a well earned rest (imagine if fights were still 15 rounds? Khan would've been out of there though, right?) or an EASY fight. Even though I think Khan has a great chance of winning JMM is too tough considering what Amir just went through despite everyone thinking it would be some sort of walkover for Khan. Who're you kidding Marquez is still a real fight for the guy. Even Judah is a tough fight coming off the Maidana war. Throw him... I dunno... Junior Witter? A reasonable name for the resume, well faded. Then bring on the Bradley-Alexander winner (Bradley) If he get's through him, them move up fight some of the 147 gang: make bare g's getting beat by Mayweather. If he loses, there's the Maidana rematch, there's the Bradley-Alexander loser (Alexander), there's Urango, there's Judah, there's JMM.
I think Maidana probably deserves the rematch, but he should probably rematch Kotelnik first or somebody else. He beat Khan up, so he's stocks still high. But he got beat fair and square: it's not controversial or anything. Damn, light welter is a great division!

Jmm?!Thats a joke fight and one i wouldnt watch.Marquez would be far too slow and small to compete with khan.Maquez would get knocked out around the middle to later part of the fight. Most probably a corner stoppage or something.A mismatch in my eyes.

There was 15,000 at that fight.
