It happened at a post fight party.
BTW The Ali-Quarry fight in 1970,was considered the first nationally televised" pimp-party",
not the more famous audience arrivals and ring-side attendees at Ali- Frazier I in 1971
October.27.1970.

Some reports say only about $100,000 in cash and jewelry(lowest estimate) was taken, but I also heard it may have been up to a Million dollars worth.
(Some of the victims were reportly underworld criminals themselves and would not file a police report of any losses or were reluctant or would not say what was taken)
One of the invitees and victim reportly was Muhammad Ali's father,Cassius Clay,Sr.
Tony Perez was also invited, but he said he got to the party late ,and the police had already arrived.

I read the article and noticed that in it Quarry called Frazier the "toughest, gamest fighter I've ever seen" and predicted that Frazier would knock out Ali in the FOTC.
Jerry should have been right about Frazier knocking out Ali. I've always thought Ali fought a hell of a fight just to survive 15 with Frazier on 3/8/71. That was a version of Frazier not far removed from his actual peak.

Totally agree, I don't think a younger Ali sees the final bell against that Frazier.

I seem to recall that Hollywood made a movie about this a few years later.
They changed some of the facts, like placing it in another city.
I saw it at the Drive-In in the mid-1970's.
It was an Urban-Action blaxplotation movie.
It was a good movie too.
Anyone remember watching this movie?

In 1972 a screenplay was written based on the heist, but I dont think that particular movie was made.

My feeling is the dudes who were found shot up in the cadillac in the Bronx
were just patsies who brought the swag to were the real villian(s) were.
There was no"Street Justice".I dont think the authorities
ever recovered most of the money and jewells and stuff,
other then the"chump change"that was left in the cadillac along with
the bullet ridden bodies.
