Enjoy folks, I am looking forward to this one!

Good read. Derry has some quality scalps on his ledger - he is too good to retire and really shouldnt have lost to guys like Lawton and Harry - who are good pros - but not in the same class as Derry as boxers. I think he will beat Lawton as he seems to be working well with Harrison - who is one of the best trainers in Britain.

derry- you may have been ahead of Lawton on points but it looked to me like he was getting to you with the bodyshots before the stoppage (seem to recall he nearly bent you over with one), which i thought was the correct decision by the ref.

well and good you may beat Lawton second time round but IMo he beat you fair & square in the first one.

No ones debating if it was fair and square first time out,derry had problems at home ex girlfriend and kid,derrry should never of fought.He was winning the bout and got stopped but this bout is about correcting the wrongs and pushing his career on.You and all those watching will see the new 12 round fighter,which is dirty derry mathews.Oh and farmer got a mention.haha DD

cheers mate am working on great stuff with oliver i left one top stable and have moved to another top stable so am gettin to were i want to be again and that is british champ , am looking forward to this fight

i edmited he beat me fair and square but i was winning the fight and this time round am goin to destroy him so am guessing your close to him then if your posting like this so make sure u tell him am a beteer fighter this time and my heads in the right place

Derry the first fight nip and tuck and though you started quite brightly, to be honest it had started to look a matter of time before he got you. The stoppage was no shocker when it came, though its always surprising to see Scott stop people cos he's obviously not a puncher.

Now you have definitely looked better and reinvigorated since then, while Lawton is by his own admission ready for retirement. But Scott has already demonstrated the power to hurt you and will be more comfortable at 135 himself. All credit to you if you can grab a revenge win, but i doubt it'll be as straight forward as you reckon.

At this point in both your careers its a good little matchup.

not at all close to Scott, Derry- I just thought the way you were talking about being ahead on points, didn't quite get the full picture of the fight. which is that he banged you out. if i was betting, i wouldn't bet on him to do it again FWIW as you're showing much better form now

i dont expect it to be straight forward mate i just no am more hungry and determind to win and have got a lot more to offer lets no forget i could of picked anyone to fight am topping the bill in my own area were i live but i no this time roun no mater what lawton brings to the table ther is no way he is goin to win am in middle of a great camp and have some world class sparring lined up

Yeah it is too your credit that you've gone after a revenge win. Certainly does show desire and i think it'll turn out to be an excellent contest because both of you will be prepared to dig that bit deeper. You want that revenge and the chance to continue working your way back, and Scott will want desperately to go out with a win.

Will the fight/card be on TV?

Derry you may well beat lawton but as for winning the british title at lightweight i dont think so rees,mitchell,watson,arthur all stop you easily sorry but all the best

I see Derry beating Lawton and looking good too!! He's come on has Derry there is no mistake about that! He looked great beating Choi and is working on different things, if you watch him he's now catching punches ad countering them, great to watch!! I see Derry looking good and then beating almost everyone domestically at his weight. There are some tough fights for him but he has the experience and like its been said he's in a better place now mentally!! People should remember that a happy boxer is a good boxer, you'll never get the best out of a fighter who is not happy IMHO..

Mitchell would be a good fight for you, if you beat Lawton. That is providing Rees vacates to fight Murray for the European then you and Mitchell for the British. Styles make fights and I think Rees and Murray have difficult styles for you but Mitchell's style would give you more time to box and get off with your combo's.

Il disagree with u there Derry,1-Murray 2-Rees 3-Mitchell.....Yes u done well in prizefighter but got stopped by Buckland in the final...i understand u had a tough semi fighting Choi,but Murray&Rees fight like that for 12rounds....i think ul beat Lawton,but these guys are on a differant level in my eyes...I wish u all the best on your quest

Practice what you preach i think is all he means

I think Derry is a severely underrated fighters skillswise. He has beaten Simpson Marsh Foster and Choi. The question mark over him is his chin and its not a question mark really its a weakness he can be hurt and bullied a bit imo. This is why Mitchell and Rees arent great stylistic matches for Derry. Hopefully though he is going to be more solid at the higher weight tbh at 126 he just looked like a malnourished child and he still looks ripped at 135.

I think he definitely can compete at the top level domestically and there are a good few matchups to be made domestically i wish him all the best
