Suggestion - can we wait untill 1st of January 2004 - Robin Reid and Ricky Hatton have got massive fights. Don't want to do the same mistake as I did Hare.

Stu, have to commend you on your Hunter pick for young boxer of the year. As a good friend of the Mickster I am obviously biased but the way he has been overlooked by so many since beating Frankie De Milo for the WBF belt last year is incredible. Unbeaten in 18 (his "draw" against Callaghan has us all nobbling in Crawley - Callaghan's brother included!), Mick is a former double ABA champion. He has suffered a bit of late by being forced to take 6 rounders against opponents he has struggled to get "up" for but showed in bossing matters against a clearly heavier Nikolai Eremeev that he is a decent operator. Without wishing to bad mouth anyone I am not sure how much Team Pickering really fancy Hunter. By giving up his WBF title (a shit belt granted but a tidy earner) Hunter threw down the gauntlet. Next salute Pickering is going down the EBU route. Pickering v Hunter would be an absolute barn-stormer and I just hope it happens in 2004 before Mickey self destructs (he likes a pint in the same way Oliver Reed used to at times).
Also - I would champion Craig Docherty for boxer of the year. Purely on the grounds that I had 2 months wages on him beating Jabir last time out and literally nearly choked on my pint after witnessing the African go to town on the Doc early doors.
