Can anybody tell me who the Referee for the Hatton Tackie fight is please

don't know for certain but I can make a pretty shrewd guess

Mickey Vann of course.

it is a bit iffy isn't it? Fair play though, he's never done a bad job in a Hatton fight that I've seen.

True however, I think it would benefit Ricky if he uses different referee's now and again. He can't keep using the same referee can he?

As you can probably guess I am prety new to boxing but i thought that when Ricky goes to fight in America he will not be able to keep the same referee.

Vann was bang out of order in the second round of the Hatton-Magee fight. He blatantly bought a stunned Hatton some time. Even Magee turned round and looked at the ref as if to say; "What are you doing!" It was the worst piece of refereeing I'd seen since round one of Benn-McClellan.

Hitman - not trying to sound like the cynical old boxing fan but I wouldn't cash in your Airmiles for Ricky just yet. I don't think he'll fight in the States in 2004, he would need to take a pay cut to do so as he won't get 15,000 Mancs at the Mandalay Bay to cheer him on and line his pockets.

That French referee in Benn McClellan cost me a lot of money.

I had £200 on McClellan to win in the first.

The fight should have been stopped in round one, if it had Gerald McLellan would be ok today.

That will do me the more times I can see him box the better. However, I do want the best for Ricky and I hope he can go the whole way

Knockout A - he made me 250 quid (I had a fiver on Benn in the 10th at 50 to 1. I was a student at the time so it was a lot of dosh, the woman at Ladbrokes said I was the only bet that they had taken for the right round but didn't I feel guilty taking the money given Gerald was fighting for his life)

Yes his personal ref again. I second the point that Bennie made about the 2nd round of Magee-Hatton. Hatton was clearly hurt and there was no reason whatsoever to separate the fighters except for giving Hatton some rest.

the problem with the same ref is that you know what the ref will allow and what he wont and you can take advantage of that.

yeah i was watching it earlier, surprised that Magee never brings it up when he talks about his fight with Ricky

was hatton hurt in that fight? when he went down in round 1, did magee have a chance of capitalising?

Not so much in the 1st, but in the 2nd and the 12th.

Fortunately (for Hatton) Magee hurt the hitman late in the 2nd and I think was a little tired to do much in the 12th.

I still believe Magee lost the fight as opposed to Hatton winning it, however when Magee hurt Hatton he tried his best to get him out of there - Hatton to his credit stayed strong.

Its just Magee didn't try that much in the rounds he didn't hurt Hatton.
