I have to say, one of my favourite fights.

The sad thing is obviously what happens in the aftermath and then later down their respective lives, to both of them. Atleast they gave us this and may they both Rest In Peace.

Great fight but hard to watch when you know that both men were doomed.

Did Anofowoshe die after this fight? Absoloute war I thought Akeem just won it with the more effective combinations but Quiroga is one tough guy! Very good fight neither man got too sloppy both put everything into it!

No Akeem survived the blood clot but had his boxing license revoked. He was a yellow cab driver in New York, for awhile, I seem to remember then went back to Nigeria.

Bit cloudy from there on in. Some say he started boxing back in Nigeria and after a bout, he was changing or showering and collapsed and died.

He was 26 yrs old.

Quiroga didnt fair much better. After a dispute in '04 with some gang member over some 'he said, she said' stuff, he was stabbed to death by his car.

He was 34.

They most definately never got paid enough for that night, what a war!
