I was looking at John Michael Johnson's record earlier today and he lost an early four-rounder to Junior Jones but later stopped Jones in 11 rounds to win the WBA bantamweight title. That's what you call payback. Any other examples?

Robert Allan and Bernard Hopkins fought to a no contest in a non title fight (or for the USBA) and then avenged it twice, once a title fight

That was an IBF match.
Edit: in fact all 3 of their bouts were IBF matches, and alol 3 count as part of Hopkins' 20 defences.

Isreal Vasquez scored a first round KO over Oscar Larios in 1997. They fought again 5 years later for the interim WBC super bantamweight title (Larios would later become full champion) and Larios won by 12th round stoppage. Vasquez then avenged this loss by stopping Larios in the third round of bout for the same title in 2005.
