Sorry if this is old news, but has Esham retired. I see he is down as a trainer on Carl Greaves' website.

am glad hes retired imo he should done it a while ago

He really did get into some hard fights later in his career; he was very slick when younger but had to take some stick when he slowed up. hope he's doing ok, he provided some good entertainment and could box for fun and had lots of heart.

Your mate was a proper fierce fighter and that bout was a real showcase. No doubt that fight did not help with Eshams' longevity but you must accept that it was the bottle and skill shown by both men that made it a cracker. Hunter needed a capable dancing partner to shine and he did get that in Pickering.

i woulg like to say well done to esham for a great fight and yes he was in his prime that night i broke his heart and was easy the fight of the year that fight made me a have the belts to prove it and not seen esham since that scarey night would like to shake his hand but untill that day come s happy retirment

i did not agree with the decision that night, after a couple of 10-8 rounds in the bag, i thought esham did enough throughout the whole fight to steal a points decision !!

Hunter won that fight ABSOLUTELY no doubt about it. It was an absolute cracker but stop trying to re-write history. Was one of the best nights of my life. If I live till I am 90 I will never experience a better atmosphere at a sporting event. And to top it all off I was all over Hunter in the betting at 5/2. Must have been a special night for me to get a bet up!!!

I think Esham could have a lot to offer in the coaching department , could be a good person to have for Carl Greaves .
Incidently i see Carl has got Neil Dawson fighting on his show soon, i tried to court him into the white collar scene a while back but after some days consideration he decided he was going to have another crack at the pros , seems hes carried that out now , im glad as at least he didnt just turn me down , he was honest , something that some have not been , its bloody frustrating when ex pros contact you about fights only to come up with some bull about going back to pros , and then dont , typical time wasters , why bother contacting me in the first place , getting me all excited about having them on my show.
Back to the point , Esham had some tough fights and i think hell have some vital experience to pass on to the young lads at Carl Greaves Stable , Dawson included

yes dawson is back and looking great in the gym,hes being trained by josh wale's dad mick and boxing in barnsley on 11th feb.

Had esham work my corner a couple of times.Deffo a great addition to carls stable. Cool,calm & knowledgeable

he has the experence he been the top not once but many time s so when a fighter gets in trouble he knows wat to say to get him out of that trouble but thats a great job to take as an ex fighter who been there at the very top his dream will live on with the square ring

My mate aint finished yet and now after a topsy turby life he says hes up for winning his titles back. I saw michael hunter down monkeyland and hes a fat coke head DD Esham said he would like to return as many losses as he can... Hunter Marsh Wale top of his list... :geek2:

their fight didn't do Hunter any good longterm either

esham a very nice genuine guy done well in his career im sure he has no regrets..happy retirement!! can see him making a good trainer..
