It appears that Gary Shaw is quite interested in Wild Will after being introduced by Elias Nasser. Shaw who was made aware by Wild Will before his fight with highly touted Kimbrough(the 3 major Promotional companies in the US were trying to sign him) on the Green/Jones card was surprised that he was being matched so deep after only 10 fights and Shaw honestly thought he was being thrown to the wolves. Obviously Shaw had interest in Kimbrough himself and when Will smashed him, Shaws attention turned to Will. Since then Shaw has been following Will with a keen eye to market him to Australia and the world.Shaw is building a stable of Australian fighters atm, with Darchinyan,Zappavigna,Fleming and now Will Tomlinson.

A Barry Michael card late last year( I can't believe it wasn't televised) saw Will beat ranked WBO 5 Phillipino fighter Rey Lebao 19-2 which edges him closer to a shot at Boxrecs News fighter of the year and WBO titlist Ricky Burns . I honestly believe this fight will take place in or just after the middle of this year.

good news if he is to base himself in the states, zappa should do the same. the competition here is limited.
its hard to get exited about australian prospects, to many hang around here to long and develop a kind of minor league syndrome

is wild will ok after the sucker punch?

I think the angle of a fight here and a fight over there is the appeal they're going for.

Zappavigna doesn't perform as well in the US as he does here, i hope this changes.

This maybe true but if you have a look at at a fighter like Katsidis, who's never afforded the right to fight in his home/home town and the countless Africans who will never know what it's like to fight at home, it's hard to say that no one fights well abroad.

I like will alot but no way he beats ricky. I know ricky through my boy i train and he is world class will is not yet. Will t will win a title just not yet and not against rick. Give will another six or so fights before he even thinks about a title. All the best to him and his team but ricky burns is someono to stay away from at the moment

I'm sure Bob Arum and Top Rank would query as to Gary Shaw promoting Paul Fleming as stated.

Paul Fleming is defitnitely with Top Rank and managed by Mike Altamura and Cameron Dunkin.

With such a great promoter and management team behind him, I'm sure Paul will be given every chance to succeed. Best of luck to him, he's a great talent.

Fleming certainly is a bright prospect and I know his management personally and whilst they have good faith in him, their certainly have no urgency to rush him along. He's developing just nice under his trainer Billy Hussein. He'll get the right opportunities on some excellent overseas undercards, plus matched home here very well also in order to keep developing. I believe more so in 2012 is where we'll really see 'Flemo' start to make some good noise.

I think Will Tomlinson is certainly earning his potential shot at Ricky Burns. To be fair to Burns, he's certainly no cream of the crop champion and in 3 or 4 more fights, I think Will would most definitely have taken the further steps to be ready to challenge him, and I feel, be right there in the mix with the tools to beat him.

Will's certainly been taken along a good path, kept active and again, if he get's his shot in due course, he'll give a great account of himself. Good luck to him.
