The reason Haye v Wlad isnt going ahead - from wlad himself!

"The contract was just verbal, nothing written yet," Klitschko said. "If I agree he could have backed out and taken Chisora, which is a great pay-per-view for him in Britain. He could give Chagaev step-aside money and then I'm going to be there with nobody to fight [in the spring or summer]. Because of our history before, I would fight him July 2 and we would work on the contract, but I would fight Chisora first and make sure I fight.
Wlad was unwilling to sign a contract before fighting chisora he wanted to wait until after fighting chisora to put the haye v wlad contact together.

What a plan!!!

So he wants to take a risky fight (don't care who it's against -any fight is risky) BEFORE signing a contract for what would possibly be the most lucrative fight of his career. His advisor must be a genius

Don't believe it myself. Some people automatically see his word as more trustworthy than Haye's. I don't - I think they're all full of shit.

Besides, when has anyone ever heard Haye mention the possibility of fighting Chisora? It would NOT be big PPV in Britain.

what a lot of hogwash from Wlad.

I mean if he feels he needs a tune up thats fine, why not say so, but this is one of the most ridiculous excuses ive ever heard.

Crossing the street is risky. Everything is risky. However, Chisora is not a notably "risky fight" for Wlad. Quite the opposite.

on the other hand you could say its extremeley risky , as im sure its not gonna be as much money for fighting del boy as it would against a name fighter , plus chisora is pretty much an unknown so if he has the element of surprise and causes an upset ala rachman v lewis , then wlad would be left with severe egg on face syndrome

Piss poor excuse from Wlad.

And what happens if Chisora wins? He has to rematch Wlad and should he win, he has to fight Vitali.

If that happened then there is no Haye fight. Period.

Great idea Wlad, jeopardise the big fight (and your biggest risk and purse) by taking this 'voluntary' defence against a guy who has nothing to lose.

And not even prepared to sign for the Haye fight either.....not impressed :shame:

This near two year arguement over who has or has not failed to sign the dotted line has truely bored me by now. We all like the build-up of anticipation of a big fight but Haye and the Klitschkos seemed to have crammed and matched all the talk and hype of the 17 year awaited rematch between Hopkins and Jones into just a two year stretch. I'm getting more and more bored every time I hear now about Haye against one of the Klits. Of course I stilll want to see Haye fight either brother but if and when the announcement is finally sealed in concrete it will be more of a relief and a at bloody last than the kind of electric buzz I would've felt if the fight could've been made quicker without all this tiresome messing about.

Haye obviously wants Wladamir but Wladamir may have concerns regarding Haye's power. Vitali wants Haye. Haye has concerns over how good Vitali's chin and awkward defense are. This could still run awhile. I'd put the onus on Haye to make the Vitali fight and even if he loses I'm sure he could still talk his way into a fight with Wlad and though I don't believe for a moment that Haye will retire this year, there'll still be a void to fill the Klitgap when both brothers are gone in the next couple of years that he can fill.
