Any one much about him, i looked at his record and noticed he over came a few early knockout defeats to become world champion

Very solid fighter, not a spectacular chin. But good all around skills with above average power. Check out this war with Merqui Sosa, it's a classic.

Showed bottle, a good chin, good power and punch variety that night. I was suitably impressed (threw some fantastic uppercuts).

There was talk of Hagler, possibly going up to fight him, but that never materialised.

I personally used to think he was a good fighter. He had skill, heart and good power.

Yes, he was quite good. The lh division was pretty solid at the time he reigned but unfortunately the champions (Hill, Williams, Moorer and Harding) never fought each other. Williams vs. Harding would have been a great matchup.

Loved the Czyz fight. He was put down pretty hard and came back well.

Aye, Czyz cracked him pretty damn good in that 2nd Round. He did really well to get up from that punch and come back fighting hard.

Was a decent fighter, made the most of his abilities. Shame the top guys at 175 never really got round to fighting each other.

His two wars with Sosa are brutal.

He should never have boiled down to 168 to fight Toney either.
