Can't Haye become the Klitschko's mandatory?

According to him and Adam Booth, the Klitshcko's will not agree to a fight.

If that is the case, can he not try and manouvre himself into a position where he is the mandatory challenger, so they either have to face him or vacate?

I'm sure there'll be politics involved as always in making this happen.

this is the massive hitch in boxing, the boxers can decide who they box and when they box them.. the powers that be should make the best fight the best i just dont understand it at all.

I can't see Haye ditching his WBA title so he can obtain a rating with the IBF or WBC, and then working his way to mandatory spot.

Purse split could also be a problem - if you're a title holder and you do manage to get a unification deal, then 50/50 is generally the kind of split to be looking at - all else being equal. I can't see any title holder making a defence, mandatory or otherwise, and going 50/50 with the challenger. There'll be exceptions to the rule of course but in this particular case I can't see Wlad or Vitali giving anybody a quid more than necessary. But lets hope sanity prevails... :TU:

So once you become a champion with one organisation, you lose your ranking with all the others?

I believe so, Wlad and Haye aren't ranked anywhere in the current WBC top 40.

Yep. One of a million examples as to why almost everything outside the ropes in this sport is a load of w**k.
