had a bit of spare time and watched the Joppy-Eastman fight.........it was close. Eastman deserves to be hanging with the likes of Joppy and BH but who else can he fight in the meantime?

I've been looking at boxrec.com ratings for the division and the middles are poor. Would Coley or Robert Allen be a decent test?

Robert Allen would certainly be a very good test, as would Keith Holmes.

Did you read the article about Joppy on BM, he basically said he wasn't right against Eastman and thinks he can stop him in a rematch... Do you believe him?

yeah I read that......had ONLY been sparring with SMM??!! Joppy couldn't stop Eastman. NEVER. He tagged him with some good meaty shots and didn't stir Eastman.

Holmes = hasn't he gone down to light middle? He is one awkward customer.....BH didn't know what to do with him!!!

I reckon that Eastman NOT Joppy has more room to say "I could have done it differently".

That said I reckon Joppy would beat him 8/10 times.

For me Eastman's work-rate will always be his undoing.

Joppy would beat him again I think, unless Eastman really went for the KO, I had joppy winning the last one clearly.

Eastman spent too long posing and showboating, all the while getting whacked around the chops by Joppy, whose handspeed had Eastman covering up a lot of the time. It's all well and good shaking your head and clowning around, but it's better not to get hit in the first place.

I expect Joppy to do better against Hopkins, that he did against Trinidad, he made a major mistake against Tito in trying to go toe-to-toe, which isn't his style. He thought tito wouldn't be able to bang at middle, and he was totally wrong.

I don't expect Joppy to win against Hop, but he'll make in harder than most people expect, I think at any rate.

yeah I agree HE would need to go for the knockout.

I expect Hopkins to box cute sat night and work the body before taking Joppy out late. BH wants to win that bet. Joppy's movement might cause a few problems early but BH is a master at closing the gap and he'll make Joppy fight in close.

I actually think Maurice Hakkar would be a step up - this speaks volumes for how deserving old Howard was for his first world title shot.

Both Eastman and Wayne Alexander's camps should have swallowed their pride and made the fight happen earlier this year. Who else was out there for them?

Eastman would have destroyed Wayne. Whatever people think about the merits of Howard, he has an amzing chin and is as strong as an ox. I think he knocks Joppy out if a rematch ever happens as he knows he must be a heck of a lot busier than he was in the first meeting!

that would have been a good fight a few months back but now...... WA has got to come back and get active.

if BH wins next sat night then he's gonna fight winky.

if Joppy wins I think HE has a better chance of getting a title shot so he should be rooting for the man from DC.
