£50k isnt alot when you think about it for a world champion!P.s this isnt a dig about how much burns is getting for fights solely more to do with the pretty small sums some world champions make due to lack of fan base and marketability and thats not including tax and other expenditure!

he will fill the braehead arena and will have sky tv money for this fight. Up here he has been in the press with some good sponsors aswell.

the arena will hold between 4-5 thousand and if they all pay an average of say £40 then its decent money at the gate

eg@ 4500 fans at and average ticket of £40 = £180k

so with sponsorship and tv money i hope hes earning a lot more than 50k as your point about the tax will take off nearly half of that figure

Don't all of FW world champs get a minimum of 1 million a fight?

can i just raise the point about the p[rice of the tickets ,the cheapest ticket for the last fight at braehead was £40 ,which was reasonably priced for the whole card .but now the same ticket price is £50,i think that is rediclious given the price the last time ...it really puts me off .i know there is econamies of scale etc ,however i think even takling into consideration the vat price rise,this is a bit steep.

On other topics like this in the past, it was something like typically £25k-£40k for a euro title fight. So I'd hope he is now on more than £50k being a world belt holder under a big promoter like Warren, but who knows.

Too much money for this joke fight if you ask me.

Morrison and Warren will both be taking a fair whack promoting Burns for this commonwealth bout.

I would say Burns will get £50k (after tax) say £36k. Burns has his fans from Coatbridge but even they must realise this is a hee haw fight after seeing Laryea and his jab beat a one dimensional Appleby; god what were his trainers thinking letting that Laryea jab the head off him for TWELVE rounds!!!!

Scott Harrison earned well out of a W.B.O title and defending at the same arena Burns now boxes at.He will be getting 100k plus is my guestimate.

If Ricky makes 50k out this foght i'd be suprised. It's not a very appetising fight i admit. Who's his mandatory anyway? Anyone know?
