Lovemore v Katsidis @ Lt Welter

Just read an interesting article in the latest WOB where Lovemore throws a challenge of sorts to Katsidis.
In the same article Lovemore talks about Kat stepping up to Welter to fight him for his IBO title. I think a match at Jnr Welter wouldnt be bad, and it may give some indication whether Kat is going to be able to hang with the top guys at Jnr Welter. Brendan Smith recently suggested Kat go up and challenge Khan. I think a bout with someone such as Lovemore wouldnt be a bad idea before Khan....your thoughts. And yes I want to see it because I am a fan of both guys.

Lovemore is getting on. I think he would find Katsidis too hard.

I tend to agree. Also Lovemore seems to have some admirers at Golden Boy.There isnt a chance in hell the fight would take place in Australia, but it would be a decent undercard fight to a major bout.

This fight could be fought in a phone booth if there's any phone booths left these days.

Hmmm... interesting fight. I wonder what the actual likelihood of it coming off is...

I like the idea of this fight, Lovemore seems ageless and can still turn on a great fight, and Katsidis would have his hands full.

michael doesn't need more. he has plenty under his belt already. maybe for an inactive fighter who has early ko wins, but michael needs wins. or his value will begin to drop.

would be a tough night for both guys imo.

It would be a tough night for both, a durable, wily boxer like Lovemore would be a dangerous opponent for some one needing the win.

I agree daz, you'd have to think it would go the distance and anything could happen.

Lovemore could cherry pick the openings and rack up the points on a come forward, heart on his sleeve fighter like Mick.

heard something about katsidis v guerrero. Man they need to give this guy a break. If golden boy keep putting him in wars he'll be done in no time. He's the complete opposite of mundine ha. But i think mick may have earned the right to one or two softer touches, with his brother, the marquez fight and the floods all happening recently...

Guerrero vs. Katsidis isn't happening anytime soon. Was mooted, but not happening now in the short term.

As for a Guerrero fight being tough and giving Michael a break. No chance, Michael eat's Guerrero up easily. Mick went with JMM for 5-6rds before JMM's class went to another level. Ask yourself, how bad does JMM beat Guerrero? If your being fair dinkum, it wouldn't go 3-4rds at best.

JMM is a class above Katsidis. Katsidis is a class above Guerrero, simple fact. I personally think a Guerrero fight is a great return fight for Michael as it ain't going to be any 'war' like Michael will get with the likes of Rios, Antillon, Soto and some of the other top guy's at 135lbs, or heading north to 140lbs and being over-matched in speed, (both hand and feet), height (considerable height difference), reach and overall weight on the night compared to Khan.

Khan is big money for Kat's, especially in the UK. Make it happen in 4-6 fights when Mick say's he want's out and use it as his superannuation.

i think you under estimate guerrero mate. He is easy top three maybe even top two at lightweight. No way does mick walk through him.

I just watched Guerrero dominate Escobedo, who Kat went to war with. It was the best I had seen him in many bouts. I think a bout with Kat v Guerrero would be great. If guerrero wanted to he could probably out box Kat,but he likes going to war as well which would be very entertaining.
