smith has done manc & has gone back as he obviously takes his career seriously.personally i dont think gallagher can give smith nothing he aint allready got,but i suppose the surroundings are what suits smith.

bellew has mouthed off how better farnell is then everyone including gallagher publicly. then deserts farnell??

To be fair to Bellew; he hasn't 'mouthed off' at all; he's posted on a boxing forum and given his support and recognised his (then) trainer. He's done nothing wrong or anything that can be slated. From all accounts Anthony Farnell is some trainer; he keeps a tight and happy ship. If Tony fancies a change; well why not? He only gets one shot at the boxing, if he feels he'll be happier then good luck to him.

bellew has spouted off how better farnell is to gallagher & being the best coach in the land :!: i listend to bellew & never again, he is naive.

I agree with you most of the time Mr Hurlock; (even when you pull me for being a nob); here I can't.

When Bellew has been training with Farnell since the start of his professional career and is in the media, and chooses to post to moochers like us, what is he to say? What experience does he have of different trainers etc. Bellews' work/life balance may have changed, the money may not have come in like he anticipated; (I was very surprised to see the amounts thrown about for Paul McCloskey v Amir Khan).

What he said at the time he believed (I take that on trust); Farnell is a top trainer but Bellew feels like he needs a change.

In any case; boxing at a high level is an art. Different trainers can improve different facets; there is no ONE best trainer for every fighter; if he weren't to try a different approach when deep down he felt he needed it then he'd be a coward.

Because that would be ridiculous given that the gym was 45 mins travel time from his home...

ive never called anyone a knob :!: maybe spud :DD

since bellew has stepped up he's struggled & has gone back to his am coach because he has obviously been critical, but bellew has been called mr excitement from the ams he wasnt a boxer or a danny price he was an overweight kid with a big set of bolloks who could bang @ 14-4 he is mediocre @ 12-7 he's drained id say 13-7 he is world class dangerous w\rrior

I've not seen Bellew at 14/4. He could certainly take a flush shot as an amateur heavyweight a few blips shouldn't mean that Bellew is seen as a poor boxer who can't get to (at least) the next level. I do not know how easily Tony makes the weight but from what I have read, it was his decision to drop to light heavy, to go up will be difficult; Cruiserweight is a very difficult weight class, you've got lightheavys moving up and big strapping lads moving down. It doesn't look an easy division to make a living in.

Bellew was far from mediocre in the amateurs.

i think bombers last two fight's would have gone that way regardless of farnell & i think he'd of really learnt from the expieriances & will be better for it & now the new coach will recieve the praise.
