I will certainly be hoping for and expecting a Clenshaw victory - it will make it all the more impressive when Robbie Bryant beats him!

I think it will be quite ugly, but do expect Josh to win this, he's a better fighter than his record suggests.

Clenshaw should have a bit too much for Les unless home town advntage comes into play. This should be a good match up but!! good luck to both.

You have to pick Clenshaw, but its Gold Coast so there's a big chance he could get robbed. I fought up there last year against Matt Burns, at the weigh in Pipers trainer came up to me, drunk and talking it up, he said is it you or your brother Daniel that wants to fight Les? I said Iver one mate will Les fight in Sydney? he goes we wont fight there i said why? he said we will get robbed, i said what about here isn't it the same? he goes no up here if you win the fight they will give it to you. I said I'll find out tomorrow won't i, next day i bashed Matt Burns and didn't get the decision.

Its pretty ordinary when fighters actually feel they cant fight somewhere as they think they will get Robbed.

In my Honest opinion Judges who stuff up continuelly should be giving the sack, If you dont perform at any other job you get sacked so why should judging be any diffrent.

Ben K
I could not agree more as a fighter there is nothing worse than training for 6-8 weeks making all the sacifices pro boxers have to make.
Only to be robbed by some judge who is either biased or knows shit about boxing.
Point being there should be a performence review panel
Also if there are any boxing nuts out their You should have a go. ( Can't do any worse than some of the ones we have now). For the better of OZ boxing.

This turned out to be pretty one sided...

I would also assume that Clenshaw will not get the fight with Bryant now either, if not for the bad loss then for the fact I can't seem him getting down to a reasonable weight to fight Bryant.

6 fights were televised by Fox and the main event pretty well went Les's way with Josh at best winning only 2 rounds and spitting another. Les threw double the punches, without causing much damage with Josh still walking until the final bell went. A fight fought in the right spirit.

A summary of the other televised fights:

- "Big Daddy" Lucas Browne had too much fire power for "long" John Szigeti, stopping John in 3. Big Daddy put John down in round 1 but John used his reach to claim round 2. In round 3, Big Daddy look like he was tiring (was he foxing) and John forgot about his reach advantage and got tagged under a flurry of big hits from Lucas. If Lucas can work a bit more on his fitness he can quickly move up the local rankings.

- Ryan Langham's points win over Jack Asis (who came up in weight) was a scrappy untidy affair with quite a bit of grappling.

- There were more punches throw in the 70 seconds that the bout lasted between Tyrone Jones and Amasrir Singh than the rest of the night. Both stood toe to toe and in the end Tyrone had the more power and the fight was stopped in his favour.

- The Tommy Szeremi versus Allan Tuniacao 4 rounder ended in a 38-38 draw on all three cards and Tommy won the first 2 rounds then Allan shaded Tommy in the last 2. Both fighters are worthier of a rematch over 6 rounds.

- In the clash of the debutante damsels, Nadine Brown had the sharper punches and tighter defence and won every round over a game Malin Morgan.

Good wrap, and Tyrone Jones certainly caught the eye, he had a lot to deal with in the first, and dealt with it he did, good strong test and a good strong fighter.

Good point about Clenshaw's weight, I don't think Bryant should fight any higher than middleweight, though I assume he'd be ok with Clenshaw coming in over the limit especially considering his recent poor showing. SMA and Hadlow were both in between the middleweight and super middleweight limit against Clenshaw, though this fight is billed for the PABA middleweight title and Clenshaw hasn't been a middleweight since 2004.

This is quite a disappointment with regards to Robbie's matchup, seeing as it was originally supposed to be Junior Talipeau, which I think would have been a cracking fight. Any chance Piper could replace Clenshaw for the fight?
