Doesn't look like it's happening.

Don't know what the the Khans/GBP are offering but these tight fisted complaints are certainly becoming a trend.
Who now for Khan?

Good for him not accepting Khan's rubbish, Khan should fight Brook if he wants money

Its a lucky thing Khan doesn't own a corner shop or the price of a pint of milk would go up 2p on a Sunday instead of 1p.

Can someone spill the beans on this offer that was so poor ?

One thing Hearn playing hardball, but when exactly is McCloskey going to get another chance?
Khan will fight someone else then fight in the US his next two, while McCloskey means nothing to the other champions. He is well behind Olusegun in the queue and he has been waiting for his chance for years.
Is Hearn looking out for McCloskey, or just his own percentage?

Agree, what about the chance to fight for a world title, and doesn't the chance to earn bigger money come when your champion? So who wouldn't take up a chance to fight for a world title? Unless they wasn't confident of winning? Barry Hearn, have you got faith in McCloskey long term or are you looking for a one off bigger payment?

I think most promoters are just concerned with the latter.

What percentage would Hearn get, he's not he kids manager and isn't the Promoter of the show, if he was wouldn't a cheaper purse for McCloskey be in his interests?
He is just ensuring a kid gets what the fight is worth and what the Khan's are offering is derisory for this fight.
Hearns doing right by McCloskey, percentage or not.

I think I'm more inclined to side with Barry Hearn over Shah Khan.

I can't say I blame them. None of us would give McCloskey much of a chance against Khan and I'm sure in their heart of hearts his team feels the same. At this stage in his career it's back to square one should he lose and there is no point in doing that for peanuts, especially if he has something big lined up back in Ireland.
This isn't like Judah excepting a small payday to beat Spinks, McCloskey would rightfully be a massive underdog

Good, hopefully Khan will fight a bigger name/tougher challenge/create a more worthy PPV. Seems like the options for a stay busy are pretty limited now though:
Peterson: Allegedly priced himself out
Ortiz: Possibly tied up with Berto
MCloskey: Also expected too much
Why not rematch Prescott and be done with it? Instead we'll probably get Murray.

Ahhh, I believe the "he's asking to much money" might become Team Khan's favourite saying.

Do you think the "exposed" Prescott or the "smaller" Murray would be a "tougher challenge" than McCloskey?
Do you think Lamont Peterson is a "bigger name" than McCloskey or bring more PPV sales?
My mother had a saying, "pennywise, pound stupid". Dependant on who gets brought in to fight Khan this could well be very apt here.

On the other hand, Khan is superior to Breidis but it could be shades of Hearns-Iran, Thomas was better than Iran but suffered terribly in the rematch, maybe Khan’s people have written Prescott off as a bogeyman.
On the other pseudopod, mate, Tommy was shot to shite by the time they rematched whilst The Blade had found his career-best run of form.
Just saying, is all...
Plus, it wasn't exactly a blowout second time around, was it? I had it a draw, in fact...
Standard Disclaimer: I am such a shameless Hitman fanboy that I can actually make a case for him winning the Hagler fight, so there's probably not much I can say further on this subject which isn't going to topple over into the realms of hyperbole.

It's becoming very tedious this "they think I'm a cash cow" line that Team Khan trot out every time they fight someone.
Didn't Dibella tell them to f*** off when the first offer got tabled to Malignaggi ?
They deliberately avoided a purse situation for Maidana - and then whinged he was paid so much money. Despite the fact he was mandatory and was all but equal in the ring that night.
The cut off really should be no later than the next fortnight to allow the opponent any sort of preparation for an April date.
McCloskey is the man they desperately yearn for, make no mistake about that. He brings strong Irish interest both across seas and locally around Manchester, has an unbeaten record, has a solid WBA ranking and is beatable in their eyes.
I think Hearns realises he has a very strong hand, that time is ticking and he could well get a much improved package for his man. He's doing the right thing in my opinion.

Well put. It's for those reasons that I think the Khans will come back with an improved off to fight McCloskey and this fight will happen.

1. I think Prescott has the psychological edge of having sparked Khan in less than 60 seconds, think McCloskey is a bigger challenge than Murray.
2. Peterson would've been a better test and a bigger transatlantic name but PPV's would have probably remained about the same.

Do you "randomly" "use" scare "quotes" or is the "button" jammed "down" on your "computer"?
I ask only for "information" not for personal "gain".
