Kevin Johnson calls out Fury

A statement from the American read:
“Now that the BBBC has rejected Francois Botha as an opponent for you, I want to be the first to offer myself as an opponent for you. I’ve been hearing a lot of noise coming out of the UK about how tough you are how you are the future of boxing. So I say step up and prove yourself like a man. I can come to you on this short notice and we can get it on. Stop hiding behind your promoter and stop fighting those stiffs. Let’s see if you can earn yourself a title fight by beating the ‘Kingpin’ Kevin Johnson. I got my gloves, my trunks and my passport and I’m ready to travel. If you are scared, I understand. Just admit it and I’ll move on.”

Fury is not ready for Johnson yet , if ever .
Johnson Knows this and so does Fury , but seems fury is creating a bit of noise across the pond , why else would he even be getting mentioned by recent world title challengers

Johnson would be far too much for Fury.

Best if Fury stays well away from Johnson.

Johnson is definitely more talented than Fury but he can be very frustrating. He should have stopped Julius Long on several occassions, but didn't go for it until that last minute. When I watch Johnson I get the sense that he doesn't really have much "fire" in him. I would give Fury a decent shot only because Johnson can be far too passive.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't had more action. RE Fury, the problem we have been led to believe is that Fury can't get decent fighters to spar, nevermind fight. Ta da, here's the solution - yes he'd probably spank Fury but it's a win-win, IMO. Biggish name, decent record, and perhaps a winnable* fight.

* If Fury gets his napper down, trains right, and loses fecking weight.

But will it happen? Will it balls.

To be honest i have a feeling johnson keeps an eye on the british scene because when haye first come on the scene as a heavyweight im pretty sure johnson was calling haye out aswell but johnson in the end wanted too much money or something.

I pretty sure Thompson was the intended opponent when Haye fought Barrett.

Now this is a fight, Tyson Fury doesn't have much to lose here, yet has a lot to gain. A good at minimal risk.

Surely Johnson would be far too expensive? Plus after fighting for the world title why is Johnson calling out a novice? Surely someone like Arreoloa is more his level

In all honesty johnson is probably abit thick and thinks all british fighters are cash cows like hatton, etc! He's probably heard his name bandied about alot and thinks that will make me a nice pay day.

fury shouldnt take this fight even if its on offer, for one johnson isnt particularily a big name and the name he does possess is associated with is being in the ring with vitali and throwing hardly any punches and being a punching bag!Theres no value to this fight whatsover.

You obviously didn't watch the fight or have terrible vision. Johnson dominated every round after the first. It wasn't even close.

Johnson would be Fury best opponent by far. And consider a top 20 fighter.
I think its too early for Fury
