My brother recently started boxing and I want to get him a new gumshield as he uses a cheapo just now.

What's the best for £50 and under?

What's the best if no expense spared?

Any help much appreciated, cheers.

The best gumshield I ever had was a £1.50, I forgot my other one so went to the shop and bought the cheapest one they had and I haven't stop using it!

I got mine from dentist,properly moulded to your teeth...cost 35-40quid but that was 20years ago...

I'm a pro and had one made up by the dentist £35 / 40. I would love one like Hollyfield top and bottom, looks like two gumshields moulded together. The dentist said he never seen one or heard of one. Looked in most shops and can't find one. Was thinking of emailing Hollyfields website etc.

I've had dozens of gum shields and I found some cheap one that worked best but it eventually wore out. Can't find one the same.

I've seen them on a few pro's too! That's why I asked the forum, hoping a fighter like yourself would tell me about the double. I can't find them on the web either but they surely make sense.

How do you find the one you use now?

I used the old 1.50 clear thing that I got when I was 12 but it didn't really stop burst lips. That's kind of the type of gumshield he has now.

Has anyone tried the Opro?

I use the Brain Pad Pro for full contact sparring, but it doesn't rest in the gums like a typical guard. You need to clench and breathe through it. Takes a bit of getting used to.

Customs aren't cheap.

I used to have to cut mine down, as i would get a gag reflex, so that meant i would only use the cheap ones.

adrian dodson used to have a top and bottom shild

ive used loads of different types but have found the dentist ones the best by a long way i think you can buy the top and bottom ones on the geezers palace website im sure i seen them online the other day
