The Best 4x3 Matches in the World (... Ever)

Come on, let's have 'em.

I'd have to go with Martin Gethin vs Baz Carey. After the Mutley vs Anderson main event (and/or crowd argey-bargey) bugger-all people remained in the crowd, so we all got to come down to ringside and watch (a first and only time for me when it comes to boxing, although I know it's customary for a bunch of folks on here). Gethin gave away the first couple of rounds (in his customary fashion) and had an enormously exciting race-against-time in the latter two, which he sealed with a couple of knockdowns towards the end. Thrilling stuff.

Honourable mentions go to Rhys Davies vs Hastings Rasani and the first D. Mitchell vs Martin Concepcion.

I don't know about the best 4x3 ever, but one of the best I've seen was on an episode of Friday Night Fights last May. All the fights had finished early, so they had an extra fight on between two blokes with the same surname, and I think they had similar first names-but weren't related. It was an absolute cracker, and well worth a watch if you can track it down.

Ooh yeah, that was a good 'un.

I was about to say that Carey would be a good shout for the journeyman prizefighter tournament, but looking at his record I see that he hasn't fought since 2009.

That was the one I was thinking of (Carey Vs Saville), set up a re-match for the Midlands belt over 10 that was a small hall classic imo

Never seen one lad been able to turn a potentially easy fight into a barnburner quite like McKinley. ANy idea what he's upto now?

Also, good shout on Dee Mitchell v Martin Concepcion 1. That was a little corker!!!

Jimmy is retired now and one of boxings success stories, when we started training him it as quite well documented in the papers he had a chequered past hed lost an ear in a street fight, been stabbed a few times and almost lost a thumb,Jimmy also had been battling drug and alchol problems.
He went to 7.0 which was quite shocking considering he could not resist a war.He just drifted away got his own place and a GF hes got two kids now and his own locksmith business and hes even passed his driving test.
He pops down occosionally weighing bout 13 stone :D and hes doing well i realy do think boxing saved that lad.

Nicolas Perillo W PTS 4 Alberto Daniel Medina, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Medina hadn't won a fight but was a good stylist all the same, better than his record suggests, Perillo was a stocky brawler from Ururguay who looked like Juan Roldan and it was such a good clash of styles! Excellent fight! :box:

Any fight with Alex Matvienko (well most of them!!)

Tony Randell, Shaun Farmer, Lee Edwards, Martin Marshall x 2 etc also had plenty of good amateur wars getting fight of the night!! :TU:

Dunno about the best, but the biggest had to be Barrie Jones v Silence Saheed in front of 50,000 people at Millennium Stadium!

It was a swing bout that went on right before Calzaghe-Kessler. Everyone was in their seats by that point because they were keenly awaiting the main event, plus the stadium entrance deadline had passed and the food and drink stalls had closed.

shaun farmers bout with alex matvienko was a barnstormer. And i'm proud of the fact we punched f*ck out of each other for six rounds and if i'm honest the bout could of gone either way (i'm sure alex will agree) We hit each other with everything but the kitchen sink and still remain very good friends. :TU:

with a lead like that, I'm sure one of the wizards on here will manage it.
