Frank maloney

Now i know frank comes on here or atleast someone from his team does but i feel that he's too cautious with his fighters, they have far too many fights against complete stiffs that they learn nothing from!Anyone can beat up on a human punch bag,i understand that being a promoter/manager isnt easy but the balance needs to be addressed in my opinion so whilst they're not being put in with people who are likely to batter them they are giving a tough test.Just my opinion anyway.

Its a tough one , as we all know that Price and dalla in particular need stepping up pronto , but hes said on numerous occasions that no one will fight them , now we all might be getting sick of hearing that but in all total honesty theres no way we could possibly know if its the truth .

So if Franks reading this , We are aware it may be difficult to match up your prospects as people are beginning to take note of them , if thats the case bring in some yanks who wont have that same knowledge of them , that way they get stepped up , you will then have more confidence in them to go in for the kil matching them with the better fighters , if the british scene dont want to know then just bypass the domestic level and go straight to the ebu title etc as im sure price is already close to ready for that level .

In my opinion though next for Dallas should be Dave ferguson or carl baker
For price we should be looking at bringing over jason gevern from america .
Both price and dallas would be strong favourites but at least theyll be testeda bit more hopefully

Frank maloney is one of the very best around in my view and cannot understand your criticisms - if one of Frank's fighters is ready to step up - Frank will ensure the necessary fight is made - if not more learning fights are made - how about looking at the fighter to see if he is being over hyped by those around him instead of simply blaiming the manager/promoter all of the time.

well its the manager/promoter that makes the fights and maloney has been saying that price is gonna be the new klitschko so if he's gonna come out with big statements like that then why not put him in with a decent test?

Different fighters - different progression - look at how Mr W arren nutured Ricky Hatton - made a lot of money for himself and Hatton and then went in for the big test - ok a bit lateish but nonetheless both came out of it with healthy bank balances.

Time and time again on here - when Calzaghe was being criticised - I stated it was him who should have been knocking W arrens door down to demand bigger tests, yet Calzaghe was prepared to keep signing them contract renewals.

Look at James Degale - make no mistake it is him who has demanded a fast upbringing within the sport - so if David Price is that eager then he can knock on Mr Maloney's door cant he??

Maloney is very very good at what he does - he will know when the time is right to put Price and any other boxer of his into a decent and the right test.

Frank Maloney says no one wants to fight Price or Dallas, but Larry was on here saying they were offering two weeks notice to fight or some shit.

You cant tell me the entire top 10 domestic fighters wont get in the ring with price. I think we all know enough about boxing to know he is talking out of his arse.

He is accepting what Frank Maloney is doing - time and times again a fighter can learn more from the gym than he does in his early fights.

I really do not understand your alarm and some of your posts and threads pang of real naivity when it comes to boxing.

David Price will be put in a test when Frank Maloney thinks he is good and ready.

Frank is doing the right thing in getting Price sparring at the Vitali Klitschko training camp, i'd like to see if Frank can get Price a fight on the bill as well

Look at what you wrote about last nights oppen. Most people on here was saying is was a step up and he was in the commonwealth rating. We can only go by records and reports we get from others. I do not have to lie about other british fighter just ask their managers if they were offer the fight, and all offers still stand for David next fight. I hope when David becomes the world champ you lot will look back at some of your posts on here. There is boxing and there is Heavyweight Boxing ( i recall a number of people in the business and fan's saying the same things about Lennox Lewis and look how he ended up.

certainly a step up....vastly experienced...durable...stopped Corrie Sanders in 1.

however, he hasnt fought for a year.....will be short and overweight....

but more significantly has another grudge match with bruiser Anton Nel booked in South Africa two weeks later

How much notice does a pro boxer need. They can have as much as they want 4, 6, 8 week most for last nights fight was offer 5 weeks. we will be looking for someone for March so there is 4 to 5 weeks notice now.

And what ........ No disrespect intended but i highly doubt your taking the advice of a single boxrec poster , so quoting what one insignificant person in the world of boxing thought is hardly a way to prove you were right .

what top domestic heavy for example is likely to accept a fight with price in say 3 weeks if there isnt a significant cash offer on the table , so saying how long does a pro need is stupid when you know yourself that it depends what fighter your offering it to and how much your offering , if someones been out of the gym then they may need a bit longer , the south african guy must not have had much notice unless hes usually a fat useless lump which the quote above suggests maybe hes not usually .

No you are right but just showing you how you lot change, just go back and read all the post when this fight was made there more than one boxrec poster saying it would be a step up you can have it both ways.

I'm not sure how much Frank would have known about how much effort his opponent would put in. On paper he should have been a higher calibre of opposition, and has put in better performances in the past, but was clearly out of shape and unmotivated. As Frank is saying, you can't blame the matchmaker too much if someone doesn't turn up.

Price needs a step up, but noone is denying that. What truth there is to noone wanting to face him I don't know, but have no reason to think of it as a lie. There are probably a number of reasons they haven't accepted offers, with the notice given to Larry not being long enough as an example. If they have all been offered similar terms or poor pay I wouldn't like to speculate. Certainly haven't heard anyone calling Price out though.

It is a shame for Price though, because I believe he has talent, I just hope he is learning in sparring.

Can you answer this question? Or is it inappropriate to give those sorts of details?

Frank,

If the board made the ground breaking decision to say, "Right, Chisora is fighting for a World title, so if he leaves the British title vacant we are going to offer an 8 man eliminator tournament for the British title. The top four fighters will be seeded hence we put out the following eliminators:-

Sam Sexton v David Price
Tyson Fury v Tom Dallas
Martin Rogan v Matt Skelton
Michael Sprott v Richard Towers

Subs: McDermott, Olu (War Machine), etc etc.

Anyone pulls out for anything other than for injury will lose there eligibility for the title until this process has been completed. All fights go to purse bids.

Semi's held in 4 months time etc etc.
I may have missed someone out, ive picked these from memory, but you get the idea.....

You could be right but should a pro fighter not be in the gym keeping in shape and fit and no one one giving 3 week notice if was 7/6 weeks when we were started putting the show together and calling around for this show.

:TU: 100% agree, was a joke watching those two heavyweight fights, its the public being fooled an fed bullshit, wouldn't it of been better to have had Price v Dallas instead of each againts those stiffs who seem to only be there for the pay day. I know they are both Maloney fighters and he's putting buisness first but it I'd prefer to know which one to concentrate on and push forward and as a promoter give the public value for money for my shows
